Hi All
Tried to start the KK the other day but no go.
Ruled out flat battery then found could start in neutral so
looked like the "Park" switch was faulty.
Drove home then put in Park.
Stepped out of car to open gate (on slight hill) and it took off in reverse?.
Wife tried to stop by putting in park but it was already in Park!.
Managed to get foot on brake and saved all but not before it nearly
dragged me under the door. (Lucky)
Towed 300 Km to nearest dealer (who also looked at heater core failure for second time.)
Looks like a cable from gearstick to gearbox was damaged when fitted. Dealer said was the second time he had seen broken.
Told me part was in the USA and would take a week and a half before fixed.
In the mean time he had another go at the heater core. Looks like it was not the core as "fixed" by WA dealer but a small clamp that locates water pipe to core.
So dashboard out of a sub 20K car for the third time!!!
Jeep assist said no hire car as car had broken down 'at home'
Got onto Chrysler who provided a hire car and sourced the gearbox part in Melbourne, (off another car?)
At least might be fixed tomorrow.
Have really lost faith in the product, but can't afford to dump it.
At least customer support when broken down has been good but have Jeep Assist on speed dial for now!!!!
Really interested on general reliability feedback to put my mind at ease!
