Has anyone heard that Motor's are no longer going to be selling jeeps, servicing Jeeps anymore, ?

I heard that everything Jeep related has to be out of there dealership by monday 7th feb.

So if it's true, I wonder who will sell them now
If you go to jeep.com.au and use "find a dealer near you" they have our closest dealer for postcode 7000 in victoria
http://www.jeep.com.au/hostb/intl/locator/au/en/map

update...

I was at "motors" today, unrelated to anything jeep, started having a chat with one of the service guy's and they have been told that Motors will have nothing to do with jeep after the 30.06.2011,
so anyone with a new jeep will not have a service option in tassie!
unless jeep decide to start selling them here again

Jeeps reply from Facebook

"Jeep still has fully-functioning service & parts outlets with the Motors group in Launceston & Hobart. New opportunities are currently being evaluated for replacement Sales outlets which we naturally hope to have up and running in the very near future."

So it looks like Jeep are not going to bother with tassie sales anymore,

cause motors won't (don't know how) service them :wall::wall::wall::wall:

I am trying to find the security code for the radio in my TJ as it's not listed in any of the manuals. I bought it off Jacksons and today Jacksons said to contact the dealer, quote my VIN number and they would give it to me. Rang one number Jeep Aust has in Jeep Action magazine, put my post code in and was told that number doesn't exist.

Their website leaves a little to be desired as they don't list a contact email address so I sent the query through the request info about a new Jeep - and had to pick a model. Got a plain Jane email reply.

Also saw that on Jeep's Facebook page about Motors still selling stuff but now I am thinking I may have to try the US.

Might try the Jeep Assist number next and hold my breath.

Its most likely cheaper to buy a new jeep in victoria any way. A mate of mine a few years back brought a new holden HSV and got it $10,000 cheaper in victoria.

no idea.... Jacksons may be,

Guess if Jeep ever had any interest in selling the brand here they would have done something about it years ago... Motor's never had a real go at selling them.

when I bought out GC in 03 I had to buy it from melbourne !

I had Motors do my first service when i bought it (had about 160,000 ks on it) which was 7,000 ks ago and i'm staring at onother service again soon.
I was happy with the work they did, well, the jeep is still running well (touch wood) but i have no idea if they used the right oils etc in it.
Other than Motors, i don't really have a clue where else to take it, Coopers was mentioned (in an earlier post) but the service guy i spoke to when inquiring was really sketchy when i mentioned it was a jeep.
Hence why i took it to Motors, they've also done all the previous services on it.
Jacksons hey, do they service jeeps?, i'd like a back-up in case the whole Motors thingo goes pear-shaped, i'm really just after a service provider that knows what they're doing and charges fairly... maybe i'm asking to much!

I'm glad motors lost the Jeep dealership. They never knew anything or hardly ever had any stock.

Hopefully someone with a bit of interest in Jeeps take it on...

Tassiecj6? You have enough Jeeps to start a dealership!

Still trying to get some feedback on an alternative to Motors for Jeep servicing, has anyone had any experience with Jackmans in Moonah? I've heard they're good with regular cars but not sure about Jeeps (or 4w/d's for that matter).
You know, reading other threads on the importance of using the correct fluids that's appropriate for Jeeps, little things like saving $$ on alternative parts that perform equally to genuine parts, and a mechanic that is clued in, etc, it's turning into such a task when you link that to the fact that it seems that here in Hobart you service it yourself or flip a coin.
Everyday i see many Jeeps, obviously they're not on this forum (they don't wave ;)) and i'd love to know where they all go!

Sorry Bud, can't help you regards servicing, I do my own, apart from anything transmission related, then it's ATS in Harrington st. I think they will do a normal service too,

I've always taken my JK to Specialist Car Centre in Melville St opposite K&D, they are well known for doing a good job and not overcharging. Motors have done all my recalls and the other day one of the guys there told me they would still be servicing them, but I guess he could've meant only up until June. There are so many rumours going around, Motors told me that Performance Autos were looking at picking Jeep up, but I spoke to my cousin who works there and he said it wasn't ever on the cards. I thought it'd make sense seeings they had Fiat, but they've now stopped selling them anyway. Then the other day someone told me Chrysler were pulling out of Australia altogether, so who knows what to believe!

I wave to any Wranglers that I pass by, but I usually end up looking like an idiot when it isn't returned. Sadly I'm moving to Victoria in a week and can't afford to keep my Wrangler, so it's up for sale. Hopefully when finances are a bit better I'll buy me a 2011 model... I'm really hoping the coloured hardtop option is available here. If only the jeep website was updated with the current models!

I bought my JK a couple of months ago in VIC, now it resides happily in Tassie. It looks like I'm going to need some warranty work done, I really don't want to take it to motors!

The guy I dealt with in VIC said Jeep were in negotiations with a new dealer in Tassie & a deal was iminent...

I hope he was right, I might email him and see what he says.

With regard to warranty and service, Motors Hobart and Motors Launceston have many years experience as Jeep dealers, and are fully equipped and authorised for service and warranty operations. But Ian, we are very close to announcing a new dealership in Tassie...so stay tuned!"

Why not do it yourself mate? It sounds like it has a few Ks on the clock so I am assuming it is out of warranty. That way you can choose for yourself what parts and lubes you use.

Coming up to 170,000 Ks, the thing is i'm the type of guy who'd look for a left handed screw driver!
Na, seriously though, i'm not that great with cars apart from changing oil etc, not good at anticipating faults or finding them and also have nothing in the way of appropriate gear, and of course time is a factor.
With the jeeps getting around Hobart, there has to be decent mechanic about, having said that i'm considering Specialist Car Care in town.

Interesting, wonder how many brands Tilfords have now ?
Jeep may need to update there website to search find a dealer postcode 7000 and you get http://www.launceston.cjddealer.com.au/ but I guess tell get around to it

Would it be fair to say they'll be doing the servicing, and if so, what's their reputation like, if you know of course ? ;)

Well if they do the servicing they will know nothing about Jeeps at first only what they read out of the manual, so no different to Motors I guess,
Seeing that you have a ZJ try coopers or one of the other larger places, nothing to difficult about it,
