ZigZag, 16/10/2011 Short Notice

ZigZag Sunday 16/10/2011,
Short notice,
Meeting at Macca's at Richmond at 8.00a,m, depart - 8.15a.m or meet at the ZigZag cark park at 9.30a.m,
This is an SJC run aimed at basically those with limited use of their Jeeps off road, stocker's etc, and you will a "guest" of the club for the run.......
Will be mostly "C' grade with "B" options only. Bi-pass's. The area has been graded ++ so there will be places to just do some basic practise of your Jeep's/your skill's....... And see some sights if you have not been there before....... No issue's with first timer's as have/do a lot of this for the SJC over the last several years.............

Please have basic recovery gear, recovery point F/or R, Food/drink of choice,camera?? & just want to have some fun and get their Jeep's a little dirty/dusty................

Would love to come with my half stocked XJ 96, since I'm basically a beginner as well. I just don't have any recovery gear or recovery points that I'm aware off

If you have a tow bar I'm sure that some of the guys would be willing to lend you theirs if you got stuck??? I wouldn't mind anyways and I have a recovery hitch which would go in the receiver of you tow bar giving you a recovery point, if you have a nudge bar check if the mounting plates have eyes on them as we can use them as recovery points via an equalizing strap....

Ok I've double checked my jeep. Looks like i have a standard recovery point/tie down point at the front. Don't have a tow bar and no recovery points on my bullbar.

Now I have to add these to my "to do" list...

That is a pity, cheapest options are to get a tow bar, supercheap, repco etc all have em or cruise around on eBay... When you say bull bar you mean bull bar or nudge bar?

I like I said, there are Bi-pass's around the harder sections and a lot of the places have been graded++ so chance's off recovery are reduced greatly......... Have spare hand-held radio and have been know to use some of my gear (if needed)..... It will give you some possible good idea's for the future of your XJ ( the "Jeep Bug" has already appeared to start.....Lol.....)

Well fella's just me tomorrow... Missus has family BBQ I "conveniently" forgot about, so when I got home 10mins ago I said "well I can't back out now, they all expect me to come" well look forward to meeting you all tomorrow

Man it was a fantastic day today, had a bit of carnage too, panel damage, guards ripped off, near roll overs... A few winches was great!! I'll try post up some pics and video tonight!

I'm buggered and going to keep this as simple as possible so I don't bore you all, But.... that was a GREAT day for driving.

Since it was technically my 2nd 4x4 outing (1st in a group) Me and my fiance had terrific fun. Learnt quite a bit and have now created my "Jeep Bug to do list" which I obviously have to fork out.

The day started well meeting at Richmond Maccas at 8am and It was great to see so many modified and stock Jeeps. Drove up to Zigzag and started the run with Steve in the lead cracking jokes about corolla's. Had a few easy runs and a few harder ones. I was a bit of a chicken at 1st but there was no way the guys were going to let me off that easy.

Would love to try the pipeline again.

Even though I had no real recovery points, no recovery gear, no tools or equipment... we all went through that quite well. We also had 1 jeep stuck in a fairly large ditch (won't mention names or jeep models) and I had my Jeep stuck over a ledge.

Thanks to all that came and another thanks to everyone else helping each other that day.

Will be glad to go out again on another outing. :D

The two guy's in the small bog hole, we came upon...... It was only a very gentle pull on the line so they actually drove out themselves, but where a bit shy of trying by themselves after earlier that day, taking a "dip" in Hunnos "pond", filling up & then getting dragged out........lol.........
Tam, how was it being disconnected the first time??.........

Mate, that was great to be disconnected for the 1st time. I can't wait to do it again and try some more runs. Never thought I'd see the day my jeep could actually do that :D
