Nothing wrong with the size of the pics there Mitchell. It's very clean under there! I remember when my fuel tank skid looked like that. Nice shocks too.

Get rid of that rear muffler as well, it's 10 kilos of dead weight.

finally got it on I must say this is most definitely more harder than the snorkel the snorkel was a piece of cake to install

there was a couple of minor issues that I ran into on the spindle housing they forgot to Fred the whole for the zerk fitting so I had to go by a thread tap tool also on the tyre carrier Mount the bolt wasn't long enough for the stock tyre so I had to go to Bunnings in true Bunnings spirit they didn't have the right bolt so I had to go to autobahn thank God they did
other then that everything went together pretty good

Looking good mate, put it under the abs unit, and it should work

01-04-2012, 07:59 PM
Good to see you've got it on Mitch but there's plenty of aligning of the plastic tanks and bar height I can see yet to do!! The gaps should be alot closer than that

Have you also greased the spindle and done a few rotations?

There are 2 bolts on the kit for that tyre holder setup.

So when are you flogging that front bar off so we can get an AEV Premium on there ;)

037981
01-04-2012, 09:01 PM
hi Stuart

yes I have greased the spindle pump a lot of inox mx8 GREASE in it and it is working very good

for the alignment I will have a look at it after work tomorrow I see what you mean

mate I like the aev premium front bar but my avenger mako tds 12.0lb winch will not fit in it lol

I had a little bit of difficulties with the jeep leaking oil from the sump plug the copper washer should have been replaced last service but the mechanic did my service didn't realise that jeep are scrunchie and don't include the copper washer with the filter so he reused it

So I went to autobahn and got a replacement copper washer all good now

just a small update

I have ordered a VMS TOURING 700HD for 699 and got a deal with the 4wd action magazine I got the unit and 10 issues of Australian 4WD Action + 10 Action + Adventure pretty good I think

I'm just sorting out the Gtechniq C1+ paint protection it is a very long process has to be done correct every step otherwise it will destroy your paint and it won't come off but I have done it before on my brothers car and it definitely works.

Nice Mitch, what's the quality like ?

I actually haven't used it yet but it has a lifetime warranty and like I said it's the top of the line I went to trade tools the other day and you couldn't even buy one spanners set they had the 8 to 19mm spanners set alone it was 159 so it is a pretty good deal

I am making this box up so I can chuck in the back of the jeep just need to get a few more things to add

How to professionally install paint protection /detail your car in detail your car

Hi I thought I would post up this as this may help someone now I'm not a professional but I most certainly know what I'm doing there is a lot of steps many people overlook even some professionals so-called professionals remember every step adds to the final finish quality detailing is hard work that is why many professionals skip steps and do half ass jobs as it would cost them way too much to do it properly if you go have a look to see how much they charge to install paint protection you would have a heart attack

(1)the most important step is decontamination this involves a good wash and a good clay bar to get rid of all the contaminants
http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv265/037981/IMG_0211.jpg

http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv265/037981/IMG_0213.jpg

(2)Next step polishing the first pad I will be using is an aggressive cutting pad and p1
http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv265/037981/IMG_0218.jpg

(3)Next polishing step I will be using a medium cutting pad again using p1
http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv265/037981/IMG_0219.jpg

(4) Next polishing step will be finishing pad starting off with p1 and ending using the finishing polish p2
http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv265/037981/IMG_0231.jpg
http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv265/037981/IMG_0230.jpg

(5)Not quite ready yet for the c1 protection you need to remove all traces of the polish using isopropyl alcohol repeat this step two times this is critical otherwise c1 will not bond to the paint
At I forgot to take photos

(6) Now you're ready for the c1 coating you use very little a couple of tips of the bottle will go far way for a whole jeep 30ml is just enough
http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv265/037981/IMG_0234.jpg

Here is the finished result

wow thats a shiny jeep, good job mate, where did you get the products?

I used to buy Gtechniq Form the shop in Australia but they stopped selling c1 because itt is only meant for professional use because if you don't do it right it is hard to clean off so now I buy it from http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/ Way cheaper than Australia and reasonable Shipping costs

Gtechniq Make really high-quality products

Nice looking Jeep mate, this going to be a track only car or you gonna run the gauntlet with the 37's on the road? I'm still tossing up between 34 (to keep it legal) or 35's...really like the idea of having insurance however :D

that's okay
just a few things if you scroll down and look at the photos I have the one with the old bracket and new bracket side-by-side as you can see the latch is not drilled out so you will have to drill them out yourself on the new bracket

there is a vibration issue you just got to bend the bracket otherwise it will vibrate at low rpm since bending the bracket it hasn't made any sounds I think I just bent it up a little bit

that's no good I don't know of any other places you can put it
if you have already paid for it there is other people interested you could perhaps sell it to the following (Jeep To Be) or (Yt2)

but before you do that have a good look to see if you can think of any other places
