I am using the KK to tow a Jayco Outback Dove and am interested in getting a reverse camera fitted to the KK and to the caravan. Has anyone added a pioneer or similar head unit that allows for the input of a reverse camera?

Ideally I was wanting a head unit that had a half reputable GPS application in it as well. I currently use my iPhone with TomTom and love it.

I have gone down the path of investigating whether I can get a WIFI IP Camera that will send the signal to my iPhone so that I can use this in any car that I hook the trailer up to. Basically too hard at this stage without adding streaming servers to the car to interpret the video signal and pass this onto a wifi router which then creates a network that the iPhone can join.

I did find this camera that sends the signal to an iPhone and can be 12V powered:

Only problem was that the viewing angle was only 60 degrees and that it is not weatherproof.

I'm not quite sure what was used Createit but I had reverse camera fitted to my KK Limited prior to pick up and it shows up on my radio screen as soon as its in reverse. It's crystal clear and a very tiny cam as well. There was no change of head unit. Its still the standard MyGig that comes iin the limited.
Can investigate further if it helps.

Cheers Doc

Hi CibbyDoc, was your reverse camera organised/fitted by JEEP dealer or other. Would love to know more details on this, I have looked into it online but all avenues lead to needing a MYGIG LOCKPICK not sure if this will please the dealership re warranty.

I have a rear camera installed in the Jeep which operates via a Lockpick. The Lockpick is under the dash, and is very easy to install. But it doesn't do everything it says it does on the American Lockpick Website - Checkout this thread for deatils;

In regards to the Warranty - The lockpick is fully plug & play. So you can remove it, and have the radio back to stock condition. And it is really just a 10 minute job to remove....

Horsepower I doubt I have a lock pick installed as I had a dealer fit it and I dont seem to have any of the other features peeps talk about with lock pick.
Mine looks just like Bens screen when in reverse (check entire surroundings ) .
The camera itself is a litle square mount one that fits nestly under the rear chrome handle. Could drop by my dealer and ask if you like, if it helps.
