Hi guys,

Currently buying my first Jeep.

On 30 May I signed up to buy a new GC Limited. As there were none with the specs that I wanted, the dealer stated I would have to wait until October for a 2013 model, which was fair enough.

Anyway, the wife gets a call yesterday stating that the vehicle is currently being shipped and due to arrive in country 27/8/12 and should be ready for deliver early September. I queried the model number as everything I've read indicates that production of the 2013 model doesn't start until August.

The dealer has given the model number of the vehicle as WKUP7426H-8AL.

My question is can anyone tell me if this model number is 2012 or 2013?

Thanks for your help guys!

Don't know about order numbers but I ordered a Laredo (MY13) with extras about 14th May and have heard it has just been built now and not due for delivery until mid October.

V6 Petrol with pan. sunroof + sat. nav and metallic paint. I'm convinced they're pulling a swiftie.

My 2012 CRD Laredo is a WKUH7422E-8AL12 model number.

WKUP74 on yours means it is a limited, 26H not sure (though 22E on mine refers to a "customer preferred package"), 8AL means Australian spec. I guess the 12 on mine means 2012, though not 100% sure.

If the car is in transit now, then they should be able to supply a VIN. For a 2012 the 10th character of the VIN should be C. For a 2013 it should be D.

Once you have the VIN you can also track the shipping by entering it at this website as the cargo ID ... https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/ocean.do?method=getDefaultOceanQuickSearchPage
