Any info may help, my fathers 2012 wk2 is suffering from major elect issues, the air bag light comes on, the touch screen turns off, the battery light comes on, the indicators turn the windscreen wipers on, the seatbelt chime comes on ,the 4wd light comes on, all this after about 30 minutes of driving, it's at the dealer at the moment, never been offroad, just has the first service before a drive to Sydney and back, it's a v6 petrol Laredo , his first jeep , that I talked him into. Any one else with similar issues? It's really taken the joy out of his new car.

Sad to hear. First thing's first. Check the battery connections. Then check the ground near the battery.

Before I point to the ECM, I suspect a loose "main" ground somewhere or a pinched (grounded) bus wire. I had all the stuff going haywire in my old WG and found that there was a loose junction box under the driver's side dash, near the door opening.

If you don't know what you're doing, probably best to get a good auto electrician to have a look at it.

Has there been any new accessories fitted lately? Driving lights, electronic brake control unit etc. did this just happen after the service?
If it's with the dealer they'll probably find this, but along with checking the battery etc, sounds to me like the computer's confused.
You've probably heard this before, but these new 4WD's are no longer like the old fords and holdens where you can tinker away yourself.
Every little component that moves or turns on/off are all controlled by the computer module. Somethings changed or happened to confuse it.

Haven't heard about problems like that before on the wk2. Gotta be a one off. I've heard of similar problem on a JK, which turned out to be a plug with dodgy connections.

At least the problem is quite pronounced and should be fairly easy for the dealer to hunt down.

Hi WilsonJeep any progress? From my issues, the engine was running then all the warnings start flashing, chiming etc and it turned out to be a dead battery cell. Bit more on battery issues here: http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/showthread.php?t=119817

Jeep replaced the alternator and no more issues, think the issues were from low battery voltage. Battery not charging.

Hi All,

Sorry to did up an old thread but I had this exact same issue last Wednesday. 2013 Overland diesel.

Service Air Suspension warning followed by battery light, then "blind spot monitoring unavailable", then "FCW unavailable" and then the revs wouldn't drop below ~1500 RPM even when stationary and in gear.

I drove it for maybe 3 minutes after the first warning came on until I got to where I was going then turned the car off. The car wouldn't start again so I called Jeep Assist. And hour and a half later the Allianz guy came out and the car decided to start by itself so the guy just left and said to get it checked out. As soon as he drives off though the car starts throwing the same warnings and goes dead again.

So I call Jeep Assist again and after another hour the next Allianz guy comes out. He was much more helpful and actually did all his tests (while he was doing these the windscreen wipers where going off by themselves) and concludes that the battery isn't getting any charge at all, either from a dodgey alternator or a computer issue.

So this was on a Wednesday night, car got towed to the dealer Thursday morning. I called them Thursday afternoon and they said they'll look at it tomorrow. Called them Friday morning and was told they would call me back. Called again at 3pm, was on hold for 20 minutes until they said they would have to call me back. Call them at 5.30pm (their website says service department open until 6pm) and they're closed.

So now it's Monday (public holiday in WA) and I'm at work having a look on the forums to see if this is a common issue. It doesn't seem that common, maybe because all the search results on jeepgarage are about the 2014 GC's!

Anyway, sorry for the long post but I had to vent somewhere. I'll post the outcome once they get around to looking at the car.
