Hello everyone. I've just taken delivery of my 1st Jeep. 2012 grand cherokee (WK I think??).

I was wondering if anyone has found a location or bracket to mount a UHF antenna?

Thanks

Kev

Welcome! It's a WK2. A WK is the US version of our WH so can be confusing if you call it a WK as us poor WH owners (jealous of WK2 owners :-) ) buy parts from the US under the WK brand.

In answer to your actual question - sorry. No idea. I know US WK (WH) owners have a bracket for the left rear above the brake light.

Standard bracket from Dick Smith and some creative bending to make it fit. Gap is not as wide as it used to be on previous cars but works fine.

I used a 1/4wave stubby antenna and mounted it direct to the roof rail towards the back. The lead runs through a grommet high under the tailgate LHS and inside the trim to where the remote head radio is mounted in a bracket under the passenger seat.
Works fine.
Sorry for no better photo...

These antennas are a good option for roof rail mounting too:

Nice idea but it looks pretty nasty with those 4 roofing screws. Surely they could have made it come out from behind the light, I'm sure I've seen one of the US 4wd retailers do that for the WJ and it looks so neat and no visible fasteners.

This is what I'm runnig on my KK Cherokee. Very happy with how it works, and not a hole drilled anywhere.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply everyone, I really appreciate it.

I'll look at the options over the weekend.

Pmac - thanks for the information on the correct model. WK2!

Cheers

I was chasing the same thing and saw these 'internal mount'. Anyone used them successfully?
