12 v. Socket info

Hi guys has anyone upgraded or has issues when running a portable fridge in the storage area. Ran mind just on a few short runs on the rear power socket no problems but planing a very long trip and wondered if it neared a upgrade. TIA Coxy

Coxy, I have a 31 litre fridge set on -4 deg, the compressor kicks back in at +5deg, on the digital display which is not a true reading. Regarding your query I have no problem with the original wiring on a trip Brisbane to Cairns, however, occasionally the compressor won't start when the engine is not running. compressor is a Secom.

Thanks, was not sure about cable size, concerned it may overheat, but you would think that a plug in the back of an SUV would be for a fridge.
