Hello boys and girls.
My in-laws are in colorado at the moment for a month (lucky bastards), and i want to stuff a pair of quick disconnects into their suitcase to bring back for me.
What brand should i buy. Any pros and cons? Any to stay away from...quality etc.
thanks.

My 2¢ = Teraflex.

Definately Teraflex. I have used them on my TJ and XJ for over 1 year now and no problems at all.

I'll make that a third for the Terraflex, I'm just about to fit a pair myself, got any more room in that suit case (LOL). ;)

Even though we are Rubicon, Aust/NZ - Terraflex is the go,

PSSS - Rubicon are currently developing new very trickey units to replace the old rattle traps.

Well, i'm not bright, but i think you're all trying to tell me that Teraflex are the ones to get??? graemlins/dunno.gif
No worries, thanks for the input guys. Looks like i'll be disco-ing before i know it!!!! (John travolta, eat your heart out)

Lexx, if there was anymore room in their suitcase, i would have squeezed myself in. Sure the 30hr flight to get there would be uncomfortable, but it's worth it!!!

I know you've all said Teraflex, but is the JKS brand any good?

I've got a set of JKS Quicker Disconnects. The big advantage that they have over the Teras is the ability to be lengthened when you up your lift. The disadvantage is that I have to use a mallet to get them to disco.

I'd say go with whatever is cheapest. Just avoid the Warrior/Rubicon ones.

Thanks Jeff. I'm not planning on upping my lift any time soon, so i'll stick with the Tera's. They're about $20US cheaper too. Plus i might forget my mallet next time i get to the trail.

Does anyone know of the price of the tera disco's from TW @ USA4x4? I've emailed him, but haven't heard back...must still be on holidays. Just wanting to compare pricing here as compared to getting them in the US with our crappy xchange rate etc. It's gonna cost me about $215AUS to get them from the us as mentioned above.

Hi all...
Long time lurker - first-time poster.. :D
But, MR. 04 X IV, you'll probably be looking at anywhere between $350 and $400 to pick up a set of Terra's in AUS. If your rellies are willing to pick you up a set from the US, I'd say do it that way..

Thanks TJB. I wasn't sure of how much the RRP was here in AUS. I guess that i'm getting a good bargain at $215 then!!! Cool, time to go online and order.

Coool another southsider. I was a bit worried, cause our famous and fearless leader (jimmyb), who was once part of the almighty SOUTHSIDE clan, has recently joined the DARKSIDE(northside)!!!

Algester, yep, nice and close. We'll have to catch up and go wheelin' soon. The next couple of weekends are out for me but late jan is good. We'll talk then.

Sounds good... I only just whacked my disco's on last month and haven't had a chance to get em dirty yet.
Better not forget that mallet eh! graemlins/spinrhead.gif
