But fawked if I can remember where from? Let me think about it for awhile! Now where did I see them advertised.......... oscar_the_grouch 31-10-2002, 11:44 AM Wolfe i've seen them on an xj here in perth...it was put on by 4wd USA looks good on the xj's but dont know about the tjs though...asked eddie at the shop a while back n he said it was a bit less than 800 shipped over east i think graemlins/dunno.gif ....give em a call on smile.gif sir_camel 31-10-2002, 11:47 AM What about TJ flares on an XJ. Seen some pics on JeepUnlimited or somewhere like that. A little bit of modifying needed but would look pretty chunky. If you could find one being wrecked (if your lucky) it could be a decent priced option. Just a thought. graemlins/spinrhead.gif RaymondJ 18-11-2002, 01:38 PM i got a price for the bushwacker flares from american custom truck for my xj, at $845.00 fricken dollars for a set of 4, i'm searching for an alternate ! TW. 19-11-2002, 03:03 AM we do them here but your not ready to pay the price......? there more like $925 a set. in stock. RaymondJ 24-11-2002, 12:53 AM well tee doubleya, is there a cheaper flare that looks similar ???? Bogged 17-06-2003, 10:20 AM Could always find out where the rangie guys get their flares.. kinda like the XU9 toranna flares! NICE! oscar_the_grouch 17-06-2003, 10:54 AM what about putting two pairs of the tj flairs on, i think jimmyb was lookin at this a while back ???? Jimmyb 23-06-2003, 03:41 AM This is a pic that was taken before they were attached flush. Only vice grips holding them on here. http://photos.ausjeepoffroad.com/data/media/8/JEEPTJFLAREFRONT.jpg now for the rear..............eak! Bogged 23-06-2003, 04:32 AM Should turn out shmick there jimmy! Now.. need to get santa to bring me big wheels and tyres! and lift! Dave 23-06-2003, 04:41 AM Jimmy lookin good.. are they hard to put on?.. and do they go out much further? Plus do they stay on better than the stock ones?.. Cheers, Dave Jimmyb 23-06-2003, 04:54 AM they took me about 3 hrs, trim a little, check, trim a little, check etc. when i did 2nd side only took 45min to do it. takes about 2" off the metal, have to take heaps off the back of the flare also. i havnt finished yet as i had the dog probs but going to put more bolts on and a bracket at the bottom as you need to trim the bottom mounting off the get them to sit flush. drivers side has good reinforcing behind there, passangers a little less. they do cover 33x12.5 tyres on rims with 3.75" backspace, only just. Gildo 23-06-2003, 07:24 AM SCHWEEEEET! graemlins/beerchug.gif Very cool, now to have a go at my CJ with some of them suckers. graemlins/rock.gif Jimmyb 24-06-2003, 10:33 AM fully attached. http://photos.ausjeepoffroad.com/data/media/8/DSC00437sml.jpg Bogged 24-06-2003, 10:58 AM Very Nice Jimmy!! Better looking than the ppl who put front/rear tj's on! Gojeep 24-06-2003, 09:38 PM Is there any fixing in the bottom section once you trim it to fit? kyro 25-06-2003, 03:57 AM lookin good dude  Jimmyb 25-06-2003, 11:52 AM there is no at the bottom from where the guard goes in, you have to remove it all off the flare to mount straight. i will be putting a bracket in behind it and running a single bolt of rivit through that section. Gojeep 26-06-2003, 09:51 AM Sorry to have posted twice but did not see ithere was a next page  Bogged 26-06-2003, 01:24 PM my guess.. is tension from the other rivet/bolt holes holding the flare on. But once the brace is on.. Should be all good! My guess though! Gojeep 26-06-2003, 09:19 PM Does look great. Most complain that it makes there tyres look smaller and start thinking about 35's! Your not are you :? Now for the rears to match them up. A lot more fun I am told to get it all to line up on the door and the guard together. Are you going to do it? Jimmyb 26-06-2003, 09:40 PM yeah next plan is the rear, i only have rubber flare extensions on at the mo to try and make it appear a little legal. the rear is harder as you have a double skin also to contend with as well as the door. Gojeep 27-06-2003, 08:48 PM Mmm, and I have seen a few cut to high and separate the inner wheel arch from the body panel. On three occasions I saw last week they set the the car on fire when they tried to mig it back up! So take it slowly :) Jimmyb 27-06-2003, 08:55 PM yeah i dont know how high i can cut to avoid having to reweld. dont want to if i can avoid it. my main prob is the front and rear of the back guard, not the height. hmm migging, thought you were sposeto tig that type of thing. Gojeep 29-06-2003, 04:56 PM The problem with the fire was that they had not taken the inside plastic panel off so keeping in the heat until it melted and to top it off the insulation mat was left glued to the panel as well  Yes tig would be a far better move but at the panel shops a 240 V mig set low is what they use! Jimmyb 29-06-2003, 07:56 PM OUCH! XJBlackie 30-06-2003, 06:14 PM Lookin' fully sic, JimmyB!! Jimmyb 06-07-2003, 06:08 PM http://photos.ausjeepoffroad.com/data/media/8/tjside2.jpg http://photos.ausjeepoffroad.com/data/media/8/tjside.jpg Bogged 06-07-2003, 09:17 PM NOt bad.. i'd prolly open up the flares abit (trim the material on the outside where it comes down, more like teh stock xj look.) But not sure how much better this would be as I have never seen any done like that! But looking absolutely Kick A55!
