yup the gift trick works well smile.gif

Wooders it is still about US$300 cheaper than the one Jumbo got for his

I think it would not be too bad if you could pick one up and bring it back as exess bagage as it is only gears and not the rear case section like the TJ one

being the aust tera distributor i guess i can help out but not at suit case rates boys.

but we DO cover warranty issues etc here in this country and hell, maybe after helping you'all out with nearly $4K of prizes i scored for the jambo you might want to give a little back? just wondering....?

anyway, there are three D300 kits, two for an auto & manwel scout and one for the jeep 30 spline @ 4:1.

its U.S. list price is $899.00 USD, we are selling them @ the dealer price, one stage lower from list so it dont cost way too much here, that makes them $2890 a set. its ugly i know but...

Tony
I did not know that anyone in Aus had them. Sorry mate graemlins/crying.gif

So I was close with the 4 times rule by the look of it. I must admit the US$700 that I saw was on special  :D

What are they like Tony ?

I know you hear stories of them being noisy etc but any real world experince of what they are like from this side of the planet ?

Had a look at these last time I was in the US

for a dana 300 you are looking at about US$700

Freight and import duty would blow this price out and I think the current rule of thumb is 4 time the US cost is the Australian dollar price landed here and all import duties paid

Of course you can bring back a lot as exess bagage if you happen to fly across there for a holiday or work

Have a search on POR and JU as a few of the guys have done it in the US and have some good write ups there is also a write up in this months 4 wheel drive and SUV

I can scan it and email it to you if you can not find the mag

let me know if you need it

I like the idea of the marlin crawler box better but think the terra low and heavy duty output is the way to go the only txfer case that will beat it is the atlas and there are plenty of clocking options to get some more ground clearence

$2800!!!
That's just a tad more than I thought they'd be....Hmm maybe just bolt two of 'em together ;)

I have work contacts in the US that will wrap it in birthday paper and put a card on it. That way there is no import duties :D

sorry CJer, yes i run a NP231 4 to 1 and found it to be reliable & once run in very quiet. it made a racket at first in high range but soon quietened down.

and yes it is imported from utah.

thats what i stuck in before i switched diff ratios, so in low it was the equivalent of 4.56's.
with that low i run 3.73's which make for a nice fast road jeep (with my 33 road tyres) and will allow 5th use at 100kph.

i have not done a 300 series case so i cant say what the noise factor would be, i cant imagine it being an issue though, its nothing like the 231 planetarys.

the Dana 20 wooders is only 3.15:1 (was 2.03:1)and is $50 cheaper USD. $150 AUD.
no out put shaft, there is a short lay shaft by the looks of it and 5 cogs, washers, gaskets & seals.

it may be visable on the teraflx.com site.
i have a few new full size tera brochures and can send one up for the SJC meeting if you like.

let me know a postal address for the club
