the best place i've found for workshop manuals is drysdale books in brisbane
albert st bris. ph 3229 5075
and since he specialises in usa books , scott would have what ever jeep manual you wanted .
or he can order direct from anywhere in usa .
i ordered a 15 year old rx7 book . rare as , thought i never get it , but alas i did :-)..
sheesh sounds like add , maybe i should get a commission ..lol

I disagree guys the Haynes manual IMHO is pretty worthless for a TJ. They started with a YJ and then just sort of updated it to cover the TJ, when infact there are MANY differences between the YJ & the TJ.
If you are going to get anything the Factory Service manual is the ONLY way to go.
This are expensive to buy (about $100usd) but are FAR FAR superior.
I'm PM you both some information for you can see what I mean.

Yup.
Worth it's weight in gold.....I do also own a copy of the Haynes Manual - which is why I expressed my earlier opinions on it....
I have installed copies of the FSM on my work Laptop, my home PC and yes even my garage PC.....
(Yes sadly I've even resorted to using an elcheapo PC in my garage and I'm collecting all tech manuals I can on it (& the others).
But I wouldn't suggest on an open forum that I could or would copy it becuase of the potential trouble......
However if anyone would like to talk to me about the manual please feel free to PM or email me or even ring me....
I find it really disappointing that the Yanks can buy the FSM from a dealer, but here you can't & Chrysler Aust will NOT entertain the thought (last disuccion I had with them anyways)....

I agree with wooders the snippets I have seen of the factory manual show that it would be worth its weight in gold

I found the Haynes have quite a bit of useful info in the XJ version at least and just bought another copy today for my Dad and Repco sell them at the moment for $37.80 so cheap enough!
Not quite as good as the $12 USD. I paid for the last couple I got each.

I have the paper manuals I bought in '97, they are pretty greased up now but were worth their weight in gold.
You can source the CD from the States. Visit mopar.com

I agree with Wooders, the FSM is the only way to go. I've got the 95XJ/YJ paper version which is really beefy and it does contain things for the RHD XJ. I was lucky when the dealer parts guy ordered it for me back in 1996.
Hi,
I have FSM for '98 XJ on CD plus paper '97 XJ and '98 diesel powertrain diagnostics. Best thing from ebay was '98 XJ parts fiche. Almost a pleasure to order parts now! :D If only Jeep didn't take their prices from the Mercedes book.
Shame on CJA for dismal support of Jeep enthusiasts, no manuals! graemlins/twak.gif
