I need to extend my bumpstops now that I'm on the 33's. My questions is how do they come off? Is the bolt that holds them located in the hole on the top of the spring perch or is it up inside the rubber bit on the end of the stop?
Well I did this on Ra's Jeep about 2 days ago mate is real easy. We used the Jeep tyre iron to pry the (yellow) rubber stops out, make sure the rubber protector is still on the iron or you run the risk of sliceing them. They say you can get the whole bumpstop out without removing the spring but buggered if I could do it. So I compressed the springs pulled them out then with a 17mm socket remove the bump "bell" then slot you're extensions in between and you should have been supplied with longer bolts so just put these in instead of the old ones. We found you could get the spring back in if you put the yellow bump stop back on before you put the spring back in. I'm not sure if you got the spacers for the front, but if you did just install them at the same time!!!
Hope this helps,

Another option- ACOS adjustable bumpstops.

So LEXX I think you're saying that you have the pull the rubber bit off the end and the 17mm bolt is up inside of that? Yes I did get the spacers for the front as well.
That's what I'm saying. It takes a bit of effort to get them out though, that's why we pryed them out with the tyre iron, make sure the rubber protector is still on the end so you don't slice it!

Thanks LEXX man! Unfortunately I'll have to do it all twice. First time to install the spacers, then I'll have to flex it up so I can measure exactly how much extension on the bumpstop that I'll need.
Well to give you an idea, we installed the Tera 2" budget boost, I'm not sure if you've got the 1.25" or 2" spacers? Anyway the bumpstop dimensions we got with the kit are:
Front: 1.75" OD x 1" tall (bolts 10m x 40mm)
Rear: 2" OD x 2" tall (bolts 10mm x 65mm)
Hope this gives you a bit more of an idea of bumpstop size.
Remember you don't have to put all the extension in the top on the bumpstop. If you look at your spring perch you will notice a nice 8mm (I think) hole sitting in the bottom. Just get some alloy pucks machined up for the bottom and bolt on, eg 1" in the bumpstop extension and .75" in the bottom, still gives you the bumpstop you need but give the top of the spring a bit more room to move.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Now there's an idea! That's if I'm reading what you said correctly. Hard when I can't look at the Jeep to see what you're saying, but I think I do. Check it out later on. BTW I got 1" Coil Spacers, and I'm only doing the front. I have HD OME Springs in the back and Normal Duty Springs in the front. And with the weight of the ARB Bar on the front it sits a fair bit lower in the front than it does in the back. Plus it's a soft top so there isn't alot of weight in the back. So the front spacers will just level it all up.
