Hi all

My wife Jenny and I are taking our new WJ to Yerranderie NSW for a couple of days. We'll be leaving from Campbellton early-ish Thursday morning and going right through to Yerranderie via Jenolan Caves/Kowmung Fire Trail route.

We'll be staying at one on the lodges there o/nite that night and the next (Fri). We'll be leaving there on Saturday morning for thereturn trip via Limeburners/Mittagong.

We want to do this little trip again (600-odd kays) while the raods are still open. There are rumoured plans to shut access down through private property because of some idiots that keep going through there ripping up the roads.

While we have booked a lodge (we usually ALWAYS camp) for the first time ever, there are both private and public camp grounds there if you wish to whack up a tent.

We're going anyway, so I thought I'd ask to see if anyone else wanted to come along. You will need fuel for about 350 k's or so of dirt roads and low range. I'm happy I now have a CRD ;)

Cheers
Chris

Hey there Wooders

I totally understand :)

Where did you go? Was it a business trip :( or a nice offroad jaunt :) ?

Maybe we'll catch you on the next one - I have plenty planned!

Cheers
Chris

Hi y'all :)

Nope, unfortunately no pics. Our little Canon digital camer's battery has given up the ghost...

It was, however, too darn hot. We went up on Thursday and stayed just one night. There was no breeze at all, and at 34 degrees o'nite was just too stifling to sleep. Add to that the damn mozzies and... we had a miserable time.

Better do it in Autumn or Winter like we always normally do.... we'll be back.

The roads are still all open - as opposed to current rumours that some (including Limeburners) are now closed due to excess traffic through private land. We went in from Mittagong and up to Wombeyan Caves/Taralga exit. From there up the Range Firetrail and onto Limeburners. Limeburners was fun as always.

On the way out we went up Kowmung and crossed the river (20cm deep) which is quite low due to the lack of rain. Some Subies were watching us come down to the river crossing from the southern side and decided to turn around due to the condition of the track down to the river... which was a case of fully-utilised suspension articulation on our stock WJ CRD.

Good fun... and all for 10.9L/100km in the CRD!!

Cheers
Chris
