Some may be aware from the banta in the other post, but we are planning a trip in late march to the south end of the barringtons. I will hopefully be an SJC club trip but I've not had time to call the right people.
It won't be a cheap weekend as we will be staying in 4/5 star accom. at a resort of sorts on the edge of the chitchester state forest.
At this point in time I do not have irm prices as numbers as always will determine this but I will need a general idea of how many so I can bargain with them. Rack rate is about $200.00 PP for the 2 nights accom.
It will also be share accom so we can keep this price down.
The main lodge is a 5 bdr (each with ens) huge thing, has it's own pool table, spa, all the mod coms you need including top range BBQ etc etc.
If we have more than 5 couples/persons, we'll be needing others and they have everything from 1 bdr up to the above.
As we are self catering I thought we could also stock up on supplies for the main meals and have everyone contribute towards them along with the nibblies we'll need for the evening party/chats/video/playstation sessions.
Onsite facilities include a resteraunt, Horse Riding, Tennis, Biking, Pools, They did have a driving range of sorts too if I recall correctly also.
It's early days and I am just gauging interest so please let me know if you are ken on coming along.
PS: I promise it won't be another Binacrombi weekend

I'm interested will confirm when a date is set.
BTW If you plan on doing a reccie let me know. I used to live on one of the farms just before Chichester dam, and my dad did jeep tours around the SF there.
Sounds like fun... definitely interested.

I think you can still camp at Ferndale which is almost across the road from the retreat if people wanted to go but with a cheep option.
I can find out for you CJBrad if you would like?

That'd be good. Cannot remeber seeing any campgrounds nearby cep't up near the dam.
But then again I was not looking for one.

Better get my name in on this thread... rather than the old one :)
I just hope that the particular weekend chosen is not one we are going away to Tassie on, or the Saab Club's driver training day...
Either way, we'll cancel and make this trip a priority!
Cheers

The Saabs are able to run, but are unregistered at the moment. We only have one in bits out the four. I'm the National VP of the Saab Car Club of Australia and NSW Branch Chairman (it's a national club).
Saabs 'ain't Jeeps.... but I'm still trying to find a Jeep that is wound out to 25+ pounds of boost and is capable of 250+ kmh... on road that is ;)

OK,
an update.
Dates will be 19th - 21st march (fri - sun)
The trip will be a C/D grade trip but I am sure we will find a few B grade options when we do the reccie in the next few weeks.
Cost will be approx. $200.00 per person for the two nights accom. It's a minimum two nights stay. For those not wanting a roof over their heads it'll be up to you to find camping or the likes of your own accord.
I'll require a deposit of $100 per person and the cost will not be refundable if you change your mind and do not come (unless you find someone to fill your spot).
The trip will be a combined SJC/ACTJT trip (I'm a member of both) but if you are from the chero club or just lurk on the board you are more than welcome to come.
We'll be self catering so I thought we may as well do a big shop for the main meals/nibbllies etc and throw in for it. Feedback on this please. Grog will be up to you.
I'll be planning on heading up on friday morning at this stage but will confirm when we are closer to the date.
If you would like to attend please PM me and I will send you more details such as the web link to where we will be staying, meeting times and general weekend plans.
Spots will be limited so don't waste anytime letting me know if you want to come along.
Cheers,
Brad

For anyone wanting the peasants option (camping)
Ferndale camping ground is a really good idea as it is virtually across the road from where every one else is staying.
Also there is access to the state forest from this property.
Camping Rates:
(All prices include G.S.T.)
Per Adult, per night - $7.00
Per Child, per night - $5.00 (age 4 and up)
Children under four - no charge
Powered sites - add $4.00 per day per site.
For more info on Ferndale here is their website.

Goneforgood

There is one caravan and one cottage.
The caravan sleeps 4 and the cottage can take 6 I think it is 1 double bed 2 singles and a double futon.
They are both still free for that weekend.
If anyone wants to book these pm me to let me know. I might be able to get a discount.
