Strange Noise In '84 CJ8

I have a very strange noise. it sounds like a spanner being dropped on concrete. i think its coming from the tranny (Auto) or transfer case. Has anyone else had this problem or may know what it is?

Also... has anyone converted a CJ to a Turbo 400 Auto?

The noise will be a bit hard to work out from here maybe if you have a bit more about when it happens what you have checked etc

As to the Turbo 400, I have not done it but heaps of people have it is a pretty common swap and it was even a factory transmission in the quadratrac models

If you check out advance adapter and novark both have danna 300 to turbo 400 adapaters and same to the bellhousing. Not sure if a quadratrac bell hosuing will work but worth checking out

Most who do this swap normally do it when swaping in a chev engine

Can I ask why you want to do it as I can not see a real advantage ove the TF that would be in there now

I have a turbo 400 in mine, but I want to find out how hard it would be to go a turbo 700. (4speed) sweet. But I think you have to run a computer and all that crap :(
