Hey guys, a friend of mine has a 84 SJ and the rear AMC 20 ( i think) has shit itself, not completly sure what has happened but he's been quoted quite a bit to fix it, is it possible to replace it with a Dana 44, 60 ect bla bla bla?? if so, what type of mods will be needed, or, on the other hand, will it be easier to fix up the AMC

hey trent
if your mate decides to go for something different other than the model 20 rebuild let me know if he wants rid of it.

I could be interested in taking it off his hands .

cheers

Hey Trent

yes he can put in a 44 or a 60 ar anything else he desires but the chaeapest and quickest way is either a repair his depending onn what wrong or buy another amc 20 from a SJ and drop that in

he could even buy a whole sj to wreck for around 1k swap in the diff and then sell the motor and gear box to recover some of the cost off course you dont know what condition the diff will be in that away but would be cheapest way out

fix it, we'de fit a truetrac, new gears and bearings, do the wheel bearings too. we keep all the stuff he'd need. swapping diffs will almost certainly be dearer and much more of a headache. my e-mail is dead so any q's call me.
