Just letting you'all know that we are just about to head off on Holiday '04.

The trip in our Cherokee with Jayco Poptop trailing along behind will take in a big chunk of Queensland.
Leaving Brisbane on Saturday morning we head to Roma, out west, the Jayco stays in Roma as we spend three days tenting at Mt Moffatt Nat Pk, part of the Carnarvon Range NP, Mt Moffatt is undeveloped, 4 x 4 access only. Back to Roma and then on up to Cania Gorge NP, near Monto in central Qld, a few days there and then on up to Townsville, west to Undarra, Porcupine Gorge NP and down to Muttaburra in central western Qld, south to Longreach for a few days and north again to Townsville, finally a few days heading back down the coast to Brisbane...4 weeks in all and around 4500 km....have arranged a bank loan to pay for the fuel too!
Take it easy everyone, see you in November.

Spitfire powered bus!!!.......sounds interesting but if it is at Carnarvon Gorge NP then we probably wont see it, we are going to Mt Moffatt NP which, although part of the Carnarvon Gorge NP, it is actually on the other side of the Great Dividing Range and there is no road connection between the two.
Certainly hope to see a Muttaburrasaurus, hope the bullbar can handle hitting one, I have read somewhere that they weigh about 50 tons or so!!

Trip hasnt started off to well, hooked up the Jayco this arvo and no stop lights!, damn wire out in the trailer plug, fixed that and now no left stop light on the Jeep!, van is sitting on towbar by this stage, cant open liftgate anymore, need to do that to replace crook bulb, unhook van, lift gate, remove buld, bulb is ok, crook connection within stop light!!, fix it up & put it all back together, hook on van again and...still no stop light on left side of Jeep, get cranky, whack back of Jeep, stoplight comes on, whack again, light goes off.....lights on back of van are ok so who cares about Jeep, I"ll get the light fixed when I put it into panel shop to fix two new dings in left rear guard!!

Behave while I'm gone fellow Jeepers!

One of my cousins owns the Longreach caravan park (just in town). His name is Shane. If you need a place to stay, tell him Kat sent you....
