I have been looking for sometime to see a new man. 05 TJ.
There are none here on the Gold Coast, none at Leo Muller but I havn`t been to Albion.
05 starts in 2 days - perhaps a marketing plot is afoot - perhaps they are being held by Santa.
Can anyone throw any light on this darkness?
driven the 05 tj 6 speed about 2 weeks ago.. just before they sold thier last one at mullers

Have you seen the TV ad that's been on for the last few days? TJ's are $31,990 with alloys, soft AND hardtops, full doors, CRUISE CONTROL and 6 speed manual. Is it any wonder you can't find them!

I got mine from Gold Coast Jeep, first renegade sold in the country, absolutely stoked with it so far, previously had a 98 renegade, definately refining a great product, seats are a little low, have started bolting all my good bits across to the new one,so far so good.

No, havn`t seen the add for TJ`s only for Cherokees etc. I wonder why they have a sale with no stock. Monte bought one - havn`t heard of any others nor have I been able to see one in 4 weeks.

Without wishing to pry did the Gold Coast dealer have yours in stock or did you have to order it unseen and wait. It sounds worth waiting for anyway. Incidently with your experience of hardtops now, would you say they ride is quieter than with soft tops or is it a question of tyres in use etc.

Hi,I had to wait 2 weeks, bought site unseen, hardtop is even a bit quieter than the earlier type due to a new windshield seal to the hardtop, softtop is quieter to but is not as good as the earlier sailcloth available on the 2001 wrangler.

I ordered mine about a month ago and finally picked it up on Christmas eve. Fairly daunting ordering a new fourby unseen..... well worth it so far.

It just may be that the reason TJ`s have been hard to find prior to Jan. 1st and in deed later is that tariff on imported cars was reduced by 5% on Jan. 1st. I presume therefore that any new stock on hand as at this date still attracted the tariff (which as I understand it is calculated on the price out of the factory)and would be landed in Aus. for resale at a higher price than one landing here today. Naturally a vehicle landed here last year would therefore show a drop in value now of the relative amount.
The ad. for the $31990 renegade "pack" TJ plus $3500 on roads - totaling $35490 - is not such a giveaway but still retail. Following the same assumption a TJ Sport should now be about $28500 approx plus on roads totaling about $32000 retail. If this is all correct Jeep arn`t offering any discount at all so far. Regarding the previous price reduction to $29990 for a TJ Sport - plus on roads - the understood reason for the drop was due to the comparative strength of the Aus. $ against the US $. I may be wrong but................................
When I bought my Sport in 2000 its was about $31,900 + on roads, but the Renagades were $40k+

The only product in the chyrsler jeep range to get the reduction in the tarrif is the Chrysler Grand Voyger. Quite a nice discount too! All the other prices are still the same. If jeep are getting the tarrif reductions on the other vehicles, then they are not passing the savings onto dealership, so the customer won't get it either :(

Thanks Steve. This being the case I`m back to square 1 & there are no 05 TJ`s.
Do you happen to know whether dealerships have any in Melbourne yet?
