Anyone interested in a night drive this Friday night, nothing to extreme. Probably head out toward Narbethong for a 3-4 hour drive.

Hey Lexx, you are very welcome.

How long has your vehicle been immobile?

LEXX
30-05-2005, 08:59 AM
Only pushing 11 weeks now ;)
I just can't find the time lately to do the job so it's going into my trusted local mechanic on Wed. He's saying it will only take two days but I'm don't think so. Two days to do clutch and rings is pretty optomistic.

Yeah good point, Troods is leading her first trip and could do with the support, so if you are not doing anything , book yourself in via the MJOC web site.

Last time we went there it was great fun, even found a rave in the forest LOL

Could be up for that one.

One word on Narbethong at the moment though, 2 weeks ago the triangle between Valley Farm/Marysville/Buxton was pretty boring as they'd run a dozer over everything except the big rutted hills. Everything in between is flat. :(

Might be worth a look over the other side of Marysville around Strickland Spur or up Andersons Lane towards Anderson's Spur Tk. Haven't been there for a while so it could be flat too.

Cheers,

Thad

XJThad, you know you want too!!
Am happy to take your lead, not been in that area, however I was thinking of the following tracks:

Project Rd
Ures Spur Tk
Yea Rock Rd
S - Creek Rd
Ash Creek Rd
Murrindindi Rd (Boring)
Kalatha Rd
Marginal Road

Or something similiar to that, have not been up there for approximately 12 months, so not sure what they would be like now.

So want to! Hanging to get out again but it's the GF's sisters birthday drinks this Friday night so unless I can think of a really good excuse I'll have to miss this one :( But I'm planning something for Sat 11 June - wont hi-jack this thread though!

There's a few good tracks off Project Rd and around that area, some that we marked for the Jambo A trips that in the wet are scary - self recovery only! Strickland I want to do again soon, had lots of fun up there at Jambo.

Cheers,

Thad

Dave XJ

Great night, Coxy and I the only drivers. Nearly drowned the Jeep, would not have been a good prospect at night and in the cold.

Home and hosed by 12.00pm-12.30am.

coxy
04-06-2005, 01:29 PM
good night dave, bit overgrown at one point but all good, nearly drowned the engine in the first hole after being only driving for 5 minuts. uni's in front shaft are now gone, and for some reason my car had about ten times more mud on it than daves  car nearly nearly died on the way back with TPS cutting out when i was doing 100kmh with a semi right on my arse, was a bit scary

sorry no photos guys it was too cold to keep getting out

XJThad

So where did you end up heading to?

Curious as to what other areas may have been hit by a dozer recently or if the M'Ville/Buxton/Narby triangle was the only spot.

I'm keen to get out next Saturday 11 June if anyone's interested?

Thad

Dave XJ
05-06-2005, 06:02 PM
XJthad, stuck to the tracks I mentioned, in previous posts. Kalatha Track was badly overgrown and not worth the effort really.

Project Road, had some very deep bog holes, park of Horseyard Track had been bulldozed.

All in all, if you want a medium to difficult trip, then Project and Creek Roads are woth while, everything else is quite easy.

Will put a post up soon... :)
