looking forward to getting back in the Jeep and getting back to OZ still got a week in KL.

good number coming well done Lexx

There are no Jeeps in KL because everything 4l and bigger are taxed heavily to protect the Proton here in KL so very few SUV's at all here...
rego is also 4000ringert instead of 400 ringert for cars with <4l
petrol is A50c per litre here so cheap....

Jeep Girl, seeing we are now a TJ down you're more than welcome to come along. Will be good to catch up again Kat.

This trip is turning out to be a bit of an epic, on the day it will be a case of seeing the cars and deciding how to handle the day. We may even split the day into two groups depending on how many cars we get.

Also guys/gals we are making this trip to suit EVERYONE, so some of the more modded Jeeps may have to just enjoy a day of tripping around with stock guys. On the other hand we are also going to try and give an opportunity for the larger vehicles to have a play in some of the area we can get all the cars.

It's on the main HWY Dave, you'll go past all the fast food guys in once area. There is also a BP servo there, it's VERY hard to miss.

Got my SImex's today so will be fitted for the w/e, hehehehe.

IT WILL BE WET, so bring gear you can clean up with and maybe some extra clothes so you don't get cold.

Actually. Come to think of it.. Maybe it was caused by me having to winch and snatch Obelix out all the time

His winch and his snatch.

Dave XJ
15-07-2005, 08:54 AM
I may also have some bad news. Took a couple of hours off work yesterday to check that my GPS, oh sorry my new UHF radio was installed properly and on the way back howe, notice that the XJ was pulling quite severely to the right?? It was getting worse so pulled over only to notice smoke billowing out from the front wheel. The brake caliper was not letting go?? Went to the first brake place I could find. So if I cannot get it fixed today them I am out (cry cry). Will let you know either way.

Anyone had this problem before???

Ben
15-07-2005, 09:08 AM
Dave I had exactly the same problem with the TJ - front passenger side caliper siezed nice and tight.

I'd been driving along, thinking someone's brakes were smelling a bit, pulled over out the front of the shops so the ladies in the heep could spend some money...next thing I know there's smoke billowing out!

They have to replace both sides, should be around the $300 - $400 mark from memory.

Looks like a good trip was had by all... Dave A bit close to that tree mate:) .. hehe. I've got marks on my jeep in exacly the same spot, from a large rock though.

Well I spent friday Arvo going over the radiator and shes stuffed, so getting replacement on Tuesday..the one gojeep has in his website from NADRAD. Its a bit hexy, but should have probs with it in the future.
While under the jeep Saturday morning changing diff oil in the rear I noticed a lot of oil coming out of the rear pinion seal in the front diff, so i give the tailshaft a jiggle and theres about 5mm of movement in the pinion bearing, there goes the sunday wheeling and now have to get the front diff fixed...

First clip is Steve83 in the CJ 10 but the quality got stripped that much you can't make it out. Rest is as you see it.

If anyone is interested in a quality copy, I can dump the raw MPEG files onto a cd for you to play with rather than make a DVD. Lots more footage of the other bits we did....al up I have 26 minutes.
