Yep, will be there on Sunday. I have a mate competing (bright yellow 2 door Rangie). Hope he gets further than last year - hit a tree Friday night, then blew transfer case on Saturday......

Thats like walking into a room and saying, "You should see what I just saw!"
and then walkin out. So what made it a "top day".

Yeah, a great day - watched SS 10 and 11 and plenty of carnage. The hill on ss10 was awesome - I'll post some pics later on.
Sandy Bowman dnf'd the last stage while leading (winch packed up) so while I haven't heard any official results, I think Birdy would have won it?

My mate blew two diffs on Saturday morning, after a good night Friday(second fastest on one stage) so dnf'd again......

The stages I saw look to be getting to the "too difficult unless you want heaps of damage" stage. What do others think?

WEll done to the 2 TJ's

A pic. This was SS10 which was a compulsory winch (after clearing rocks, logs and a deep creek washout). The length of winch was probably 20 metres up a near vertical rock face (well, that's what it looked like!) with a bit of dirt inbetween the rocks which got chewed out more and more after each car.
A great spectator stage!

Just got off the phone to Max (the TJ with the tan roof above).
He was pretty happy with the event and sounded like he'd had a ball.....
His damage reportcard was like:
Front Panhard TRE, Front Brake line, front fender, Windscreen.
Missed 2 stages due to the broken TRE and finished in about 20th.

As for the other TJ above, did anyone mention that those are Intercos not ProComps :?: ;)

I believe the rig is Alan McMullen's new animal. The rear diff look's like a Currie Rock Jock, which he imported for his new rig

gday guys
the truck actually is Allens newie c/w rock jocks fr and rear and its actually a cj8 with tj front and rear chassis grafts and tj front and rear clip vortec350,atlas 2 etc etc.
Allen is also the property owner and is one of the nicest blokes you could meet.
the property is approx 800 acres incl 200acres of awesome terrain with tracks and obstacles everywhere which is where all but 3 of the stages for the whole event were held and it backs onto state forest that goes all the way up to the snow fields in N.S.W.

The hill on SS10 WAS a compulsory winch - there was orange bunting about 10 ft from the bottom where they had to stop and winch from. They didn't want cars trying to drive it only to slip backwards down the rock face when they lost traction. One of the lead vehicles actually got a penalty as they were about a metre past the bunting.

I saw one rollover on SS11 (white MWB cruiser I think), where was the other?
