WANTED: roof rack basket

One that would fit on the XJ's factory roof rails and rack
(seen em in supacrap for about $180, Repco for $500+
preferably Melb, good condition.

Mate,
I have a full size trademan brand roofrack on my 98 XJ. I am thinking of selling the car soon and am selling the rack separate. Asking price is $450 if you are interested (I think they are about 1K new). I am in Williamstown, local pickup available or if you are may be able to drop off in Eastern suburbs in next few weeks. I can send you a photo next week. The rack is black and is the type that has a metal mesh basket built in. I have had it on the XJ for about two years now and it has been excellent. I will be definately getting a similiar setup on my next vehicle.

Thanks for the offer Rick, although something like that would be ideal, I'm really just after a basket I can fit onto the factory rails (basically to throw those bulky light items on like tent, chairs, fishing rods etc), so I can remove and refit when needed easily. Unfortunately my pissy little garage wont clear the roof racks (have about 2-3" as is now) if they are permanently fitted, and I dont have any space to store a big rack system (i assume fits on the gutter rails) which would be more difficult to r&r. (sorry but thanks again) :)

No probs Dan. It does add a good 6 inches to the clearance.
