Just bought an 82 FSJ and need to get it a road worthy. Can anyone recomend a place in Brissy that will be easy for the R/W to be done? The only initial issue was a leaky xfer case but that is an easy fix.

Also an ideas on suspension lift and so on?

2 " bodylift and 2" springlift works good and fits up to 33's....diff ratio change will give you heaps better power range if you need gears i've got a coupl of different sets for sale!!

My 1983 Cherokee has 2" body lift, 2" spring lift, and 4.1 diffs (1989 Dana 44 in rear). I will shortly be fitting Chevy 6.2 diesel and 4L80E (MT1) trans, 4" spring lift and 33" tyres. http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=682079#

I have a TracLok in the back and that is sufficient for my needs. Frankly, as someone explained to me the other day, if you want more than that in the back, you are better off with a spool. The TH700 is nice but like the earlie TH350 or later 4L60E, wont take the torque of a 6.2 V8 diesel like a TH400 or 4L80E. Note that to avoid spline destruction I will disable the TC lockup within the computer.

I'm thinking of fitting my old TJ LSD in the front of my J20 ;)
But it's just down the list of priorities right now :(

I would prefer a truTrac in the front or a ARB Air locker. In the front a locker can be diabolical if not used carefully.
Hey its only money.

TruTrac = LSD (Geared)
TJ trashlock = LSD (clutched)
The Clutched LSD has less "lock" than the geared.....So it should be ok in my feeble mind ;)
Besides Trashlok = free sionce it's sitting on my shed floor since it was ripped out of the TJ.....Otherwise I'll toss it in the bin.....

Do you have FWHs? Could be interesting on the street otherwise.

Hey 360. Did I see a write-up on the body lift somewhere? My next jobby to lift the steel bits a bit further away from the 33" Simex on board.

Just gotta "cure" a stripped ring gear B4 all else... :-(
