some pics of our outing to Harvey today with the very fine folks from the Jeep Owners Club of WA...thanks very much to Steve, Geoff and Brian, distinguished guests of honour and all you other great guys from JOCWA for allowing us to tag along with you today - it was an absolutely fantastic day (my sphincter is still puckered from that hill climb which they rated a 7 or 8 out of 10 for difficulty) these folks really know how to find it, get thru it and make it fun to do - all the things Jeeping is about...the JOCWA club has told me they want to extend the invitation to anyone who drives a Jeep to join them on one of their outings to see what their club is all about...this is a family oriented group open to all levels of experience and all models of Jeeps (and they desperately would like to share their knowledge with you)...there are none more experienced in the Jeep lifestyle here in WA and anyone would benefit from a day out with them...these folks have spent roughly 15 years putting together a top notch club with a 140 acre playpen in Harvey in conjunction with the local shire and will be hosting the 2008 Jeep Jamboree on their site (we cant wait!)...they are also pro active in track care for those interested (I am, I am!) but basically i found them to be just like the group im used to trekkin with - just a good bunch that like Jeepin, sharing, helping and seeing the great bush WA has to offer...i know this sounds like a sales pitch but i see this as another great avenue to broaden ones options for exploring WA in a Jeep with good folks - and thats what its all about isnt it? i spoze you could pay someone $450 to take you on these great adventures (and never see them again) or you could tag along with these folks and see it all for the price of a tank of petrol (and make some great friendships in the process - where have i heard that before?)...please feel free to pm me for more info
most of the pics here were taken on a very, very slippery steep hillclimb that took well over an hour for our group to ascend...there were minor casualties but it was very exciting...thanks again guys for a very pleasurable day out - Cheers, Rodge
