I found these on the Quadratec site a few months back and asked my dealer for a price. He tells me they don't have pricing yet, but the parts guys reckon they'll go for around $2k each for front and rear - YEAH RIGHT.
I'm planning on ordering in a set of front and back bumpers from the US - about US$500 each. Even with colossal shipping costs, they'll still come in sh*tloads cheaper (and probably sooner).

Hi,
Is it me or does the Aev front under bumper skid plate look like the fuel tank skid plate from a TJ, cut to shape to conform?.

still like the mopar front and rear bars better,I suppose we will have to wait to see what ARB brings out,is there any Warn bumpers available yet?.

Strange.....since when did fog lights become an ADR Requirement? Dont have much call for fog lights in hervey bay, but the rear one comes in handy at night to get people to backoff when they're tailgating you.

My 'friendly local jeep dealer' told me they are not bringing them in at present as they do not meet ADR requirements... I think crash testing etc.
The only Mopar ones listed as being brought in are the silly subular ones. Incidentally I picked up the Australian Mopar accessory catalogue from my local dealer and it had the list of accessories available in Aus, the Jeep tent looks neat but I'd hate to think what the price is.

...Yes the tent appealed to me to. Our 10 x 10 dome is just about dead and the Jeep option looked interesting. I checked a few web sites.. given our dollar at the moment ..I'd source one direct from the U.S. ..should land for between $500 & $600. ... I'd be sourcing it from the U.S. ..I'd imagine..if they bring it in.. DC will want you to pay for the priviledge and there may be a wait. If they list it at around that price...then give it a go. Apparently it fits the KJ..and possibly the Grand as well as the JK. As for those tubular bars.. They just look so....so... 'tacky' ? ..and they're very light guage to boot. Those Mopar bars look great..and the rear bar..integrated with the tow hitch and tyre carrier would seem the way to go.

Apparently as the car comes with fog lights - if chrysler is going to make a replacement bar - it needs to have the lights - that just what i have been told from the top...

I don't get it - I kinda like to ones on the non-Australian jeeps, who did they go spoil it?
Is it possible to fit the (standard) US ones instead?

Yes it's possible, I've looked into it and almost ordered one BUT... before I went ahead and bought it I had someone check the spacing between the foglights (where you mount the front rego) and there is JUST not enough space to fit an Aussie licence plate. The only other option would be to order a stock "X model" bumper as these dont come with foggies.
So I'm gonna order the mopar bar now, I have browsed around on the net and can't seem to find any sites selling them... Anyone know what site they can be ordered from?
Cheers.

3rd one down. Think there is the rear bumper on that site as well.
All I can say is be VERY prepared for freight costs. For starters, its way oversize, so forget about USPS. UPS or FEDEX are your best well known options, but Id say youwill be paying in excess of $1000 for air freight (and dont forget duties when it gets here!)
Sea is cheaper, if you can wait 38-60 days, depending on which coast it leaves from...........
I paid $1400 to get a set of 5 wheels and tyres here for my jk, took 3 days to arrive here from the US!!!!

Got the 18"s that were optional on the sahara in the US with Dueler AT to suit, done 40 miles. Sea freight will be alot cheaper, but Ive had problems in the past with that method, plus I was getting my Sport Renegade in the next week! That was 3 weeks ago, ive since changed to a rubicon unlimited, due end of this month

One possibly silly question?
If you had the Mopar fron bar with the winch mount as in the photo, where would you put the fron number plates?
I've been told by my dealer that they will be able to get these into Aus, maybe as ealry as June but I cant figure where the front plate would go.

The Mopar bars will be available here through the dealers very soon. Now, I would normally recommend against buying genuine accessories through the local dealers based on price alone, but this time the prices will be very competitive. I think you'll struggle to buy them from overseas cheaper after you factor in the freight.
