Yeah i might be able to tag along on Sunday :) Will just take off a bit earlier as I have to pick up my dogs from the kennel between 4-6 Sunday arvo.
These mud pits you are talking about, are they the ones at the end of the powerlines trek? :)

no man...they are about 20-25Km southeast of there...i was just told by a JOCWA member that is catchment area and I will not lead a group into one of those zones but will be getting more info and verification on this...maybe Muzz knows for sure as he knows exactly where i am talking about...we did a training course with Eureka there last year so unless rules have changed IM GOING! will need to sort out Tigger's new problem first tho (worn panhard joints at both ends) so might be the following weekend or two anyways...Bandit has already been there (wearing a water skirt) so wont go unless Tigger is coming....if worse comes to worse will pick something else...maybe Julimar w/Bandit when it gets muddy
ps - if you want to see Bandit in action at the swamps see my Utube vid (the one with Bandit wearin the water skirt (Robyn is drivin!!!!) chow, R 8-)

actually, i was wondering if you knew if it was catchment area...Geoff Bond reckons its off limits and rangers are patrolling that area but unless rules have changed i went thru there last may with Eureka and they only go where allowed by law (i think lol)

Rodge, I just got back from Indo, rolled the XJ on it's side, my friend grenaded by front Detroit truetrac and stripped the gears on my CJ after the off road comp (good excuse to regear front and rear to 4.88 and replace the front with a full Detroit)... and now you want me to go mudding?
Count me in.
ps. I'm taking the grand, it's got a rear tow point but the front has some crappy flimsy piece of steel from TJM which is already bent after the last trip.

Mash - im in the same boat - gotta get onto wooders so tigger can go
Widodo - excellent! bummer the xj went over - hope its ok....im assuming u guys dnf'd the comps? ps - get yerself a proper recovery point on the front...as i remember a mate of mine with a wj got a set from supacheap for $20 which worked fine until he bent the whole front of the wrig up at an angle whilst sailing the dunes as lancelin (See JAA this month)....and YES, i want u to go wheelin LOL (no excuses!)
FYI folks: i may be pushing the outing back to the 5th or 6th pending a new panhard for Tigger....ill update this as i find out more cheers, R 8-)

Rodge,
From memory east of Talbot road is OK but west of talbot road the only place you are allowed is on the powerline track. also the mud pits at the end of the powerline at talbot road (on the western side ) is dieback so your not allowed in there either.
Cheers

Hi Rodge, Yes we know Julimar reasonably well - we know where the mud should be anyway hehehe
At the moment we have got heaps on (buying and selling houses) so we will have to see how that all goes as to whether we can come out to Julimar. But we will definately try our best - its a great little play area and very pretty. :)
Will let you know asap if we should be able to come or not. Gotta check Mark is cool as well.
I might be able to dig up some topo maps of the area within the next two weeks. In the next two weeks I will have extensive access to a ton of topo and ordanance maps, so i'll have a browse thru em and post a list. (my work happens to have a big arse copier too :) )
