Julimar OR Powerlines May 5th or 6th

heres the new deal....IF it rains we will be heading to Julimar on the 5th or 6th of May (will pick one thats fits most peoples schedules so start letting me know now)...IF it doesnt rain a trip to the Powerlines might be in order as an alternative but the main goal is to find some muddy tracks...latest intel on the Powerlines is that they ARE open but you cant venture off the main track...IF we go to the Powerlines we will meet at the open lot next to the Caltex off Great Eastern and Roe hwys (corner of Farrall and Great Eastern)....this will be a day trip and we will stop for lunch...will find a meeting place for Julimar closer to the date (or someone suggest one - somewhere in the Swan valley might be best)...im planning to meet n greet between 9:30 and 10 and then head off to the muddy tracks! channel 16 as always or 043-267-5412 on my mob....cheers, Rodge 8-)

now for the latest: as of tonite the weather looks good for Julimar (btw Matt its about half an hour north of Midland along the Swan Valley)...if it stops raining we will go to the Powerlines as an alternative and meet at the previously mentioned Caltex/Red Rooster....will update the final trip with meeting times/places on Saturday arvo so stay tuned! I have contacted Heidi to ask where in Julimar they go to play and she will be getting me this info tomorrow or the next day...dont wanna take yas all up there to find nothing interesting although i know one very hard hillclimb next to the avon...also, gary and I know of a big muddy play area in the pines as well if anyone wants to go there as an alternative (no, its not the pigpen!) and is close to our meeting point for Julimar...think ill go have a look at it tomorrow and report back...if anyone wants to ring me about this trip please feel free to do so...043-267-5412...cheers, R 8-)

well folks, another good day out with another very fine bunch of people and wrigs - thanks all for coming....sorry we didnt find any mud but after the rains come im going back (now that i know where to go)...was just a good sunny day to get out, see some country, explore a bit and catch up with old friends and meet some new ones...cheers to those of you who came so far especially Matt! :D

highlites of the day: making a lot of fun out of small obstacles; the mud puddle, the metre deep trench in the Pines and the barrier and lottsa hangin the rear end out on all the esses! all those little things added up to help make it a worthwhile trip

carnage: one domed electrical cover at the petrol station (oops :shock: ); one bumper/endcap (damn trees); another bumper endcap (damn sand); one chipped windshield (damn rocks); one license plate (more damn sand) and one very abused teletubby (survived barely)...also one near rollover (no names heh) :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

Had a great day. Its good to meet up and talk jeeps with people who understand..... its a jeep thing! Right?

Yeah Rodge it was a long day for me ( 600kms and 11 hours!!!!) but well worth it and I cant have it all my way. I get a little bit jeep lonely down this way, all the jeeps I see down here are too clean to have gone off road lol. Everyone gets on really well, no one got offended by the banter and the group just seemed to enjoy playing.

Now if someone could just plan a trip when Im not on shift I could get into it some more. Looking forward to when I can get dirty again.

i think they usually do that on full lock anyway - shouldnt have your ps of full lock for very long.
