So just realised I"ve been stung, not here but a forum site.

So it got me thinking... after working in IT for way too long one thing is sure, clients don't trust developers, developers don't trust clients. So code escrow is a big thing (as are back doors.. but we don't talk about that much :-))

So what about extending the itrade model with an ausjeep escrow agent, especially for those larger $$ transactions. There's a core of members here that are in every city and are known by all, if not by face at least by their jeep. Could a third party or two third parties could make life safer and keep stuff moving to where its needed? Ebay isn't the solution as the $5k Tj shows.

Anyway, Shoot me down, give your thoughts, I'm just throwing it out there as an idea.

Sometimes if I feel sus about buying something from someone, lets say its in Melb (I'm in Bris) I get one of the Melb boys to go around and pay for and pick it up for me.

Tends to work well. Get someone you can trust. Then at Xmas time buy them a carton!

There is always the option to start this. A list could be generated of people willing to be the agents. Obviously the is travel and time needed to do this. I personally think if your prepared to put your name down, the buyer should give you 10% on the price of purchase for making the transaction for them.

Exactly Jimmy. And for those like me who don't have much technical know how, having someone in another state can have extra advantages.

Now hands up who likes Corona's.
