The top dash panel looks great. A litle more storage is what the JK needs and this looks perfect for the sunglasses and mobile.

I'd get one! handy for the phone. I used to love that top space in the TJ, it was very convenient!

How easy is it to take out the original top dash to install the Daystar replacement top dash? Is it a DIY job or do I need to go to a garage to get it done?
Does the replacement dash have a competely smooth surface so that you can attach the suction cup for the attachment to a TomTom GPS? Where in Oz can I purchase this item?
Here are the insallation instructions

I bought my dash mat from a company in Traralgon in VIC which is so far the only one who does them. $56.85 inc postage.

Same one you have to cut out the area for the Daystar pad if you have one fitted which I have on mine too.

If you put your phone on the Daystar topper use the space closest to the windshield. If you use the space closer to the seats, especially on the left it will interfere with the compass sensor which is underneath that left side. It can also play up with the GPS sensor as well so just use the space near the windshield.

Is the slots on the Daystar replacement dash a smooth surface where the suction cap to a GPS mount will hold, or is it a grainy plastic surface?

A piece of advice for those of you who are considering the lower replacement rocker switch panel, if you have a manual then when you select 3rd or 5th the gear lever boot will switch off the rocker switch in front of it. Not such a big deal in 5th if you switch off lockers or spotlights, but 3rd could cause some grief.
Bought one, love it, even with the issues

What ever happend to Jeep owners who built stuff for their own Jeeps?
A whole thread on dash mats and "DIY" plastic clip on panels.
Guess thats why you guys own JKs?

These are all over Ebay, with the exception of the dash mat. Don't know what your view of Ebay is but I have never had a problem...

the compass sensor .
Don't know about anyone else, BUT I have never needed such oblique positioning equipment to tell me I'm headed S or SW. :) Or maybe even NW after negotiating a hairpin...... LOL
