View Full Version : Do you drink and drive? Barefoot 09-08-2007, 01:55 PM Yes,no,if I've had a couple or I don't drink. lovemewrangler 09-08-2007, 02:04 PM I got caught on friday night 0.03 i forgot i had even had a beer..it was two hours later...im on my P's so i have to be 0.000000...got to go to court on the 22nd, no doubt they will throw the book at me... I told the misses she is going to be doing a lot of 4WDing in the up and coming months lol.. Fat Chili 09-08-2007, 02:06 PM No - it's washing detergent! And the purpose for posting this poll is??? Barefoot 09-08-2007, 02:16 PM Its a survey Mr Chili. :p Reading the local rag today there was a whole page dedicated to people who have been busted,a few repeat offenders too so I was just wondering if anyone here would put there hand up and admit to drink driving. goodie 09-08-2007, 02:22 PM yeah i do. Barefoot 09-08-2007, 02:25 PM yeah i do. chocolate milk? :p goodie 09-08-2007, 02:29 PM plain :opps:   hemijeepy 09-08-2007, 02:41 PM I got caught on friday night 0.03 i forgot i had even had a beer..it was two hours later...im on my P's so i have to be 0.000000...got to go to court on the 22nd, no doubt they will throw the book at me... I told the misses she is going to be doing a lot of 4WDing in the up and coming months lol.. How many beers did you have??? 2 hrs and you still blew that? hemijeepy 09-08-2007, 02:42 PM 2 beers and that's me done.... .05 is the limit in WA. Anymore then 2 beers in 1 hr and you get the bag!!! Bye bye licence! lovemewrangler 09-08-2007, 02:51 PM How many beers did you have??? 2 hrs and you still blew that? I had 1 beer...amazing hey...who would have thought, youd think there would be criminals out there to catch? Get this, they made me put my hands on the bonnet, frisked me, asked me "Do you have any machine guns or knives" put me in the back of the car, handcuffed my hands and took my mobile phone off me....dead set, i know everyone says cops are assholes when they get booked, but this cop was seriously a dead set wanker, obviously had the crap belted out of him at school...power trippin.. Barefoot 09-08-2007, 02:56 PM and did you have any machine guns? hmmm? hehe Dave 09-08-2007, 03:08 PM Sounds like a new recruit or drop kick disappointed about having to sit on a RBT so he is inventing scenarios in his head to make himself feel like a action hero. Fouros 09-08-2007, 03:34 PM nope i drive for a living so its not worth it Steve F 09-08-2007, 03:42 PM Nup, but then my wife doesn't drink so I have a driver. In saying that though I cant see the point in risking my own or others lives so if it comes to it I catch a cab. Cheers Steve hemijeepy 09-08-2007, 03:53 PM I don't cause I cant justify losing my job which pays my Morgage and my car addiction for the sake of a $100 cab ride, not that the cab cost that much but whats 100bucks compared to 6months wages? Oh yea and i wouldn't wanna hurt mt JEEP! ;) AussieRCBasher 09-08-2007, 04:02 PM got off my P's so i will drink a couple hours b4 i drive, but yeh never ever if i even slightly feel any intoxication. only idiots drink and drive wendaloo 09-08-2007, 04:27 PM Will drive if I have had one, but no more. Taxi or Dave will drive. And if we are going to a party, we sleep in the jeep. Ben 09-08-2007, 04:58 PM After 10+ years catching nothing but cabs (worked on the fun side of the bar in hospitality) I'm more than happy to spend $$$ on cabs if I know I'm having more than a couple. I just can't see the point, it's $20 vs 6 months of pain, lots of $$$ and god knows what else. ARB87U 09-08-2007, 05:11 PM i stick to the 2 in 1st 1 every hour after if i know i have to drive. The risk to yourself and others is not worth driving over the limit. Wooders 09-08-2007, 05:24 PM I drinK & I drive.... Just not at the same time cause I hate to spill valuable beer  Wolfe 09-08-2007, 05:24 PM I've done it three times in 30 odd years of driving, last time about 10 years ago, not in my car and i nearly rapt it around a pole. So that really woke me up and I wouldnt even dream of doing it now. Johnno 09-08-2007, 05:36 PM Only ever drive if I've had only a couple. Ie, 2 in 1st hr then 1 every hr after and only if I feel ok. Worked in operating theatres for 10 years & patching up accident victims wears pretty thing after a while. Mash 09-08-2007, 05:47 PM I drove my old SS thru a no thru road coz I was pissed. its a pity that sometimes it takes something like that to make u realise. but if i didnt do that I wouldn't have me Jeep :) How about out in the sticks? Like if you were camping out bush? I know lots of tools that have got stuck in a "puddle" when pissed but go back the next day to pull em out and theres a pootrol at the bottom of a dam! :) cmohr 09-08-2007, 10:37 PM I must admit 20 yrs ago I used to, you'd go to party drink heaps and drive the car "just round the corner" to get home, everybody did it without even thinking twice about. Looking back at it now, Bloody Idiot...Now if I'm driving, nothing, won't even have one, if I'm having a drink, I take a cab, or get a lift. Life is too important, especially someone elses life. Jeeps 09-08-2007, 11:56 PM I havn't had a sip of alcohol since my wedding, about a year and a half ago. Must be something to do with the fact i've discovered i'm a celiac and am allergic to beer :) ed. 10-08-2007, 12:36 AM I got done drink driving. Blew 0.1 and then 0.07 at the station. Didn't really think about drink driving before but now I don't drink any alcohol at all if I don't have a driver. Was VERY lucky to get a second chance and not lose my licence or get a criminal conviction (yes, drink driving is a criminial offence). hillsjeep 10-08-2007, 07:32 AM I voted "If I've had a couple" as I have in the past had 1 beer after work and then driven home, but I have also tested my BAC on a calibrated tester and I know I can have 2 beers in 2 hours and still be under .02, which is the limit for our site. But luckily for me my wife doesn't drink at all so if we're going out I also have a designated driver :) MattW 10-08-2007, 08:51 AM How many beers did you have??? 2 hrs and you still blew that? Yea i couldnt believe that either. The body is supposed to be able to process 1 standard drink an hour. That one beer must have been a darwin stubby unless he was on medication as well lol North Coast Wrangler 10-08-2007, 08:55 AM I got pulled over about 8yrs ago after I had just left a pub in a small country town, extremely nice senior sargent stood and talked to me for 20mins or so before I blew in the bag, blew well over the limit and was told to go immediately home that was the last time i touched a drink if i was going to be driving on a road at all. scary thing was i didn't feel that affected by it at all Ben 10-08-2007, 10:05 AM Country towns are the worst for it. I've stayed in a few bush pubs, and at closing everyone jumps in their ute and drives home pissed. As far as they're concerned there's no other choice, there's no cabs and they can't drive home. And they know the one town cop is probably in bed by now. I was impressed with the pubs in Inverlock, they've got a bus that you can call from home that will come and pick you up for free, and when you want to go home, just wander up to the bar and they'll take you home, again for free. goodie 10-08-2007, 10:35 AM Country towns are the worst for it. Must be something to do with the fact i've discovered i'm a celiac and am allergic to beer :) You poor poor man Jeeps, How do you find the motivation to get up each and evry day and continue!**) Beer is a significant part of my life. Wont drive after more than 2 (ish) unless its around my own block! ;) Thats how i found out the depth of my dam, would never have driven in there at 2am sober! (was only @ 18inches deep at the time) :D  disco_nex 12-08-2007, 07:48 PM Im padentic about drink driving. Will have a light every hour, thats it, if Im driving, otherwise it's buses and taxis all the way. I hate scabbing lifts, really do. H.G. 12-08-2007, 07:49 PM I got pulled over by an RBT tonight.. pity I wasnt drinking,., would of been interesting to see what would come of it. use to do it all the time when I was young and dumb,., now I have too much respect for other peoples lives to even consider it after even 1 drink. nearly come close a few times in my youth.. and often found mmy way to places I didnt even know existed. but as said in a previous post.. I was in a country town.. so it was pretty much the norm.( this doesnt mean I think its OK btw) XJ 98 13-08-2007, 12:35 PM Nope, never drank and drove, but I reckon in my younger days, there were a couple of times where i was over the next morning. Home at 5:30 - 6am and driving by 10am the same morning after minimal sleep. That is a real danger. The only time I can recall driving a vehicle with a significant amount of alky in the system was at Cruiser Park once when the missus needed to visit the bathroom and I was the best out of a bad bunch. Private Property and all but still wasn't happy about it. JEEPS - not the end of the world being a celiac (Sp), wine is acceptable I think, but the best thing is knowing you have it. Explains a lot. Ex girlfriend had it and once she knew what she could eat, it improved her quality of life. I improved it more by leaving her !!! haha Jeeps 15-08-2007, 11:12 AM JEEPS - not the end of the world being a celiac (Sp), wine is acceptable I think, but the best thing is knowing you have it. Explains a lot. Ex girlfriend had it and once she knew what she could eat, it improved her quality of life. I improved it more by leaving her !!! haha LOL Yeah it's not bad at all. I just can't have a sanga or a burger at will anymore but other than that it's no different. Man i'm dying for a Hungry Jacks bacon deluxe though... ;) Azz 16-08-2007, 01:40 AM ive been lucky, i blew .078 in the morning after a huge night, would have lost my licence at .08. ive also blown a clutch and bent a rim driving drunk so never again. craziest thing ive ever seen was when i vistiting my old man up in westonia. a bloke couldnt couldn't walk, threw up everytime he tried to move, jumped in his ute and drove home. puts you off driving drunk for life. very scary to watch him try and drive straight XJ 98 17-08-2007, 03:27 PM LOL Yeah it's not bad at all. I just can't have a sanga or a burger at will anymore but other than that it's no different. Man i'm dying for a Hungry Jacks bacon deluxe though... ;) Oh yeah baby, thats the burger. Am on a diet, so no can do for me either.... bikemat 17-08-2007, 10:27 PM How many beers did you have??? 2 hrs and you still blew that? Some people just can't metabolise alcohol properly. 50% of Asians lack the enzyme needed, which is why many of them can't drink much at all.
