I agree with you to an extent jeeps, but when you think about it they have proven just how easily you can breach the secruity there.I mean these guys are completely harmless, what could seriously dangerous people do if they could get that close?

The point is, they weren't going to push the boundaries- they thought- they were just going to go to the exclusion zone and stop. It was the fantastic security that allowed them further than they wanted to go.....

A few comedians and office workers can bust a multi-million dollar security system? Tourists can't take photos of all the fuss but this lot can dress up a few black cars, put on a fake beard and pretty much turn down Bush's bed if they wanted to?

And surely someone, somewhere had thought to flag the fact these guys were going to try something at APEC...and they still got through?

All I say is I hope they get to keep the footage, it'll make champagne comedy!

I read somewhere else too that they were warned not to try anything during APEC and that they never intended to get as far as they did.

I love it, I was getting a bit over the Chasers comedy but this has got me back into it. The NSW premier said it proves how good the security is because it stopped them, I think the security sucked but it makes for a good laugh. I reckon there will be quite a few cops in trouble today for yesterdays antics. Good work boys, if ever your security needs to be tested get the chasers boys onto it.

Security has been a joke for a long time as for years you could get into most Military bases in Australia at start time by flashing your licence or credit card to the rent a security crowds. 911 tightened it up a bit but nothing has really changed. Great footage of the event though!

I've just worked 2 days down in one of the precincts in the city with the Fire Brigade, and security was far from a joke. One the first day, our bus was'nt allowed in to where we were stationed because the driver - a firie from the training college - didnt have accreditation, so we were dropped at the gate.
Apart from the normal contingent of police (dozens!), one of the Tactical Operations Unit groups were stationed where we were. A scarier group of people i have not seen. Just like you see in the movies, big bastards dressed in black with balaclavas, pouches full of ammunition mags, heavily armed with hand guns and semi automatic weapons, driving in and out of the pricinct in their black/grey armoured vehicle !! Add to that the helicopters - one with the barrel of a high powered rifle visible at the door, the water police in their go-fasts, sea-doos, and various other boats, x-ray machine to get in (too bad if you lose your accreditation pass). I saw a guy fishing on a pier get moved on and a guy in a sea kayak "pulled over" by water police. Security a joke? No way! They are very serious about it. Want to try your luck and enter a restricted zone to protest? seriously, you'd be shot!
I still love the Chaser tho.

I work at an RSL club in Sydney most of the time and on Sunday night, two blokes came in and sat down on both sides of the foyeur with camera's on their laps and Chaz and another bloke from the chaser came up to the gaurd on the door and tried to get into the club using their fake APEC ID's. They were not let in, so it got us thinking that maybe on this weeks APEC Episode they will have a theme going that they could get within 15m of the presidents Hotel, but they couldn't get into an RSL Club hahaha
