Hi mate,
I have been itching to check this area out as well. I have been all through deepwater creek in a boat and a mate of mine has a house up on a hill right on Rules Beach, but last time I went there was in a 2wheel drive so didn't go exploring anywhere. It looks awesome for some sand driving and exploring around on Rules beach & bush tracks coming off it though. Only thing to be aware of is turtles nests above the high tide line - but surely there will be signs around about that.
One thing I would say is take a rod and some soft plastics to wet a line in the creek - last time were were there we cleaned up on flat head, especially down the mouth. We even had to throw some back they were that big :)
But if you get a chance to go exploring let us know how it is, and if you have a camera take some happy snaps
cheers

just got back, we had a bit of a look at a few of the little sandy trails to the beaches south of agnes, but didnt get into deepwater, we ended up being in a rush back to brisbane,
ended up being a eventful drive, just south of gympie somthing happened and i couldnt get of 3000rpm and the power was surging when i tried, then sitting in the traffic around noosa i decided to give it a little rev to try to clear it, think i may have got shitty fuel from agnes, or need a fuel filter,

Similar thing happened to me last one time I went through that Agnes Rd last year, except it was my fuel pump dying. Hope it was just bad fuel - have you got it sorted yet?
