Would a Stock ZJ with coopers on and a driver with very limited off road experience be able to make it? If so I hope to make the next trip.

Sorry i couldnt make it.. I was at the hosp untill 10.30am :(
Hope it was a great trip!
crazy day out, i guess one word to describe it would be.... CARNAGE!!!
we were only about 20 minutes in when ken and jude found themselves without a panard, whilst they waited for help we soldiered on. i got stuck in a mud pit, which left me without a handbrake. then the best bit of carnage for the day was when murray's XJ made a very large "pop" on a climb that saw his rear axle halfshaft fall out (who needs four wheels anyway???).... crazy.
other than thit though, had much fun and it was really good to meet a few new blokes.
cant wait for the pic

so off we went
took it upon my self to be trip leader had a great day
till the xj decided to develop a wide track rear end
on the last hill
many thanks to all you guys for hooking on to the rig to stop it
sliding back down the hill
and to the field service tech who came and fixed it you the man

you guys are very sneaky breaking stuff just to get me out there ;)
i had a pretty good time actually, even tho i only spent 15 minutes on the track...was good to get rob out and the quick drive was perfect for her first time out on a hard track after nearly a year in a wheelchair...the weather was so nice and it was good as always to see new faces - hope yas all come out with us again (i promise we dont break stuff usually)....
at the end of a very long day (4 hours on the road and 300km) it felt good to see yas all drive home in one piece...priceless!
now i wanna see pics!!!! R
Holy crap, sounds like you lads and lasses had a blast! Where are the pics and why did the panhard rod fail, loose bolts or snappy snap snap? Was it only the c-clip that went on your rear end Murray or did you snap an axel. Devo that I missed it but it is great that you all still made it home. Sounds like you did a great dead Rodge, onya!

sounds like carnage alright! well done!
Hey next time you guys wanna head north for an 'easy' run, I did the Lancelin to Wedge run, pretty much the whole way along the beach to south rocks, the beach is a nice run atm and only took like 20 mins, so for the newbies wanting a nice scenic easy run could be worth a look.

I don't have a photo of it but a stock old ford courier did the whole way along the beach on like 28" tyres, a local dude, so following him there was no way i was gonna look stupid and get stuck! Did the majority in 2wd.
wasn't gonna say it but atm you'd have to try pretty hard to get bogged!!!

Yea there are a few bit s which get tricky but it all depends on the tied and where the water is, i have been up there in my car when it was sitting on 29's and had no lift and if you keep your speed up you get through fine but there was a few spots i wouldn't dare stop!
With the beach it can change in 20mins thats why so many car s have come to there deaths in the great seas before :-(
You keen for a drive somewhere Mark????? :p

Sounds good to me, Ill be there.
I have not tried out my jk yet, want to have some fun without going too extreme, have a new car and affraid to scratch it, but I am sure that will wear off over time if you know what I mean. Previously owned a TJ and loved it - used to 4WD with the WAJeepers.
It would be a good idea to organise mundarring and get as many people possible to go, plus you only need one day to go there and it is not far either. They also had a bungles trip organised last year - never been would love to go with the jeep people.
what is powerlines like and where is it?:hump:

I remember the I cant scratch the jeep feeling!!! lasted a month and now 24 months later its not scratched but fully modified :).
We are having a drive to Harvey this long weekend, http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72999 you can come out and meet the crew. There is all sorts of driving available. You can go as soft or hard as you feel. On Saturday we will have 12 Jeeps8) some of us are camping for the weekend.
The powerlines: it's a track that follows the Western Power Lines;) , its up by Sawyers Valley and its a good track to test you vehicle and have some fun. I would go with at least 1 other 4x4.
As far as the Mundaring track go I believe that most of them have been closed off by the Water Department :(
See you on the tracks....
Cheers

sounds like a good plan, hope I can make it. I have to drop my bf off at the airport for the mines, so depends on when he is going - hopefully its early in the morning and then meet up with you guys afterwoods, I don't really know anyone here so will feel a bit weird but what the heck.
my bf would never let me take it out - does not want to scratch the car, he just likes 4wd to the beach and thats it. BORING!!
I used to go out with the wajeep (previous own TJ) - a group that used to be on here, but they seem to of dissapeared, they drive around with a yellow smile stick on the jeep. I missed all that 4wd fun, so thought i would give it ago again:hump:
This is a old thread this trip has happened already. Could organize another powerlines trip if people are interested!
