Dude - Solid Axel Industries is right here in Aus... their factory is in Melbourne, they cast the centres and stuff themselves.

Top quality product and I can bet you would get a set for alot less than those Curries when you include freight etc.

how much do they weigh compared to those aluminium curries though?

There will be stuff all difference...

Most of the weight is in the tubes, the knuckles, C's, locker, gears, hubs, shafts, unis, fluid... then add your heavy arse wheels and tyres (which alot people will run steel wheels anyway).

It would be a fraction of a % difference in total weight, the centre will not be as strong, you will have to run a steel skid under the diff so it doesn't get gouged out...

...alot of freight, and you miss out on the local support.

If you are looking at going with D60's, weight is obviously not your primary consideration, and its alot of sacrifices for 10 or so kg's.
