when are the recons?

kitrino_tj
14-06-2008, 10:24 PM
Mr ET or others

Worth my while???? - it has been something we have considered for a while but there are a number of concerns that I have which have prevented us from joining. Im fortunate to get to go out most weekend with mates but the club thing seems ok and it would be good to do neerims etc

Question Time though

the driver training requirement before a getting on a trip??? what about fairly experienced 4bers. do i have to drive to kilmore (1.5hrs) for someone to tell me how to put the tj in 4low

Do you have to do C & D grade trips prior to doing the A & B grade? (if not what do you do to do the decent stuff?)

if we can join and do the good shite early then we may be sold. You can count flexypj's and myself in if thats the case

what is the price for membership for the mrs & me?

flexypj's, you in

cowwee
14-06-2008, 10:54 PM
Membership is $95 for a family from memory...that is what i paid for the handbrake and myself last year.

Good group of people...all willing to help!

Only gripe i have is not enough trips! Especially for new people like myself. I suppose with fuel and interest rates, it has hit everyone hard!

robbo1959
15-06-2008, 09:12 AM
Do your trip leader course and run some trip's,while I save up for fuel to go on them.

kitrino_tj

hey DUDY-TJ - not sure if i was asking you

arzzs
16-06-2008, 09:07 AM
will you two keep your suburb's fight else where and not in the MJOC thread.

Kitrino_tJ, if you dont want to join its your loss.

Doug, you will be coming to this wont you?

Sevone

Kitrino_tJ, if you dont want to join its your loss.

MJOC hospitality at it's best...

arzzs
16-06-2008, 12:59 PM
Brent, This isn't a point about Mjoc Hospitality. To be honest I am not sure about what gripe you have with them.

This was Doug trying to help someone out.

If Kitrino decided he doesn't want to join its his loss. As a member of Mjoc it wont bother me. It was his choice. I happen to help run Neerim and know what kind of weekend it is. Its about people who like jeeps getting together and having a good time.

As a committee member it might bother them reading this, but at the end of the day its about like minded people enjoying a similar passion...

Not, "I don't think I was asking you."

If you have a problem with me, I am more then happy to listen PM me... I just don't want this to get offtopic.....

And in flexy's suburb thread. "My suburbs better then yours" who cares.... you both own jeeps and want to wheel.

Tasar
16-06-2008, 01:19 PM
Guys lets try and keep this thread too the Neerim Nasty

Kitrino TJ had a very good query about joining the club and I've PM'ed him and answered his questions

discussion about joining MJOC are valid - as this is a member only event
If anyone has any queries about the club - either contact membership officer or come too a meeting all details are on www.mjoc.org.au

MJOC run a number of non member events including the Muster - plus allow non members too attend other events based upon application to the operations manager. (there are club rules that must be adhered too for both members and visitors)

Sevone
16-06-2008, 01:37 PM
dont have a problem with MJOC or Arz, but when someone who owns a Jeep, lives in Melb, is a member on here & asks legitimate question that a lot of others would be interested in, you as a member should probably try to help out. - otherwise its a bad vibe for the MJOC - if "your loss" is a response other Melb Jeepers may not even bother asking the question.

Im sure Tasar has helped him out properly with a PM response and Im sure Neerim will be a good trip.

Well unfortunately my roll for the Neerim Nasty has been somewhat altered due to the events of the last 24 hours.
Need a roadworthy and (most probably) a gearbox rebuild all before Friday.
if I can get another ride to hit the trails all good but I will be most likely just coordinating things from camp. Working on the maps tonight. Rob you can expect a call later this evening

MAz - the event is based at Neerim south caravan park 4k east of Neerim south on east neerim road(clearly signed)

the event is self catered - the shops are only 4km away - fuel and food is available at neerim south

there will be a group fire and a camp kitchen available undercover - yes it should be cold but well worth it

Had a great day today - 20 cars ventured out

the morning was 3 km of tracks with a grand breaking a front shaft ending the morning

the afternoon was a little more adventurous seeing a bike rider taking away in an air ambulance down near labtrobe river

the cops had an SS commodore down a 4wd track ....

enjoy the pictures

not true mate ...I've never done an A grade and I bet you I have much fun as you if not more than any A grader

why dont you just scrap the grade rubbish and just wheel

You need to be able to advise participants of the terrain they will be covering. Nothing worse that a "newbie" holding up a convoy of "oldies" on a day trip. Newbie gets stressed, oldies get boored and stressed, trip turns to crap, all is lost.
Trips need to be rated and "A" grade will give the "newbies" some pause for thought until they train and work out the Jeep is far more capable than they are....;) Whereas the "oldies" will chuck their car at almost anything - because they have the experience...;) and bottomless pockets. The way of Jeep :D

kitrino_tj

Kitrino - because for beginners like me - i just couldn't ever go!

sorry, but i still dont agree with the grading

there are 1000's of people that wheel out there together that dont necessarily have the same capabilities in their vehicles but actually go out and have a great day

if there is a particular section or boghole that they dont want to do, they just watch and enjoy

Tasar
06-08-2008, 01:59 PM
Cause not all the jeeps are tj's with 4 in lift and 33in tyres

its like everything in life to organise large numbers need rules/guidelines

just like you do at the work ...there has too be structure

krankieone

I can understand where your coming from if your planning to go down tracks that are lightly to cause damage to a stock or lightly modded vehicle it if only fair to warn people first

Ben

if there is a particular section or boghole that they dont want to do, they just watch and enjoy

The point of A/B grade trips is that there's not a particular section, ideally the whole trip is bloody hard/a test of man and beast!

As OzJeeper said, there's nothing worse when you're trying to get a convoy of 10 through the day, and it's a hard trip with someone on stock tyres and no lift. What's the point? Either they'll seriously damage their car, or the other 9 people may as well have slept in that morning.
