Well done - function & fashion!
sweet looking rig. Well done.
Not sure about the Bushwacker's. They are yet to win me over on Jk's just like the Tj's. Just too damn big. Are there any other options for extended flares beside them?

not if you want to cover the 10x16 wheels. Only Bushwacker as far as I know cater for a 7" body flare. Here in WA the cops will write you a yellow sticker very quickly. The 8x16 wheels would have been ok with another make of flare but I had my mind set on 10x16. I take my hat off to the 4WDUSA boys, they know their stuff. :)

Madog - By the looks of this pic you have to remove the rear truss to remove the Rancho diff cover, is that correct? Doesn't look like it can be removed any other way due to the tabs surrounding the fins on both sides of the diff cover?

Hey Flexy,
I wanted something slimline that does have winching power and that does not restrict the path of the airflow through the front grill that much. JK's get damn hot on slow crawling trails. The winch pulls 2720KG single line (5440Kg on a double pull) and the Jeep now sits on about 2300Kg. The M6000 is one of the most common used winches in offroad sport racing due to its lighter weight , average power, slimline and cheaper than most. I could have gone for the Warn power house but felt it was an overkill for me. I just wanted a winch between my Jk and Misses TJ when we want to venture offroad alone together.

Madog - By the looks of this pic you have to remove the rear truss to remove the Rancho diff cover, is that correct? Or will it slide out and away once the three truss/diff cover bolts are removed?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/ausjeep/JKRancho.jpg
The small brackets on either side get unbolted with the Cover bolts and the truss remains fixed and untouched. But, the JK has a drain plug hole on the underside of the diff preventing the cover from being removed for oil changes. The cover has a main fill hole and a over flow hole as well.

cool just asking , cause i never seen one around here on anything bigger than
a zook . most guys go 8000pound + winches . different horses for horses for courses i guess .

Cool, didn't know they had a seperate drain but now I know that I can see it on the lower right of the diff centre. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/ausjeep/EMOTICONS/2thumbsup.gif

Hi there,:)
Jeep modification can be costly in many ways after all JEEP does stand for Just Empty Every Pocket. The lift and mods did cost me a few grand but well spent I think with the right Supplier and installer for the product that I chose. 4WD USA like other companies of similar size have company overheads with staff salaries, etc. I feel they give me straight up answers and advice and have given me great service to date. With JK's being so new to Oz I think 4WDUSA have the product modification and installation downpact,as I do know of 5 JK's, 2 and 4 door models that have been suspension modified by them. Rancho and Full Traction systems alike.
The expense now is not the modified JK but convincing my insurance company that I want to be insured for a Jeep that costs more than stock replacement. And that will be an ongoing expense.:D
They done a great job none the less....waiting for my tax return to get a few bits and pieces myself  ....looking fwd to seeing pics of that thing FLEX on the trails! ;)

Hi there,
I would have but the Misses is already bitching about the height and sore knee getting in and out so the steps will have to stay for a while. I've been plenty rockcrawling with it and have not bumped them yet. I was thinking of eventualy getting the sliders and then putting the Bestop electric steps on that 4WDUSA sell.

Go to the BESTOP website below and that is the product I have mounted on my hood. it is called a "Hood Applique". Just a little something to break the look of that wide bonnet.

if ya a mamber of a 4wd club try tcis they insure my jk i had the same deal mods more than a 1/3 of the cars "2nd handsell price in 4 weeks they said it was only worth 37 g for a rubicon i then told them find me one for that and ill take it ;) " this was when/still the long wait and delays 4 mnths for mine to get here. when it was a month old and all the bits had been added to it even though the insurance company i was with was a 2 yr new car replacement :hammer:

Hi Silver,
I agree on the shocky adjuster breaking off, thats why it was installed facing rear. I am thinking of the new digital in-car shock adjuster from Rancho , yet to be released. it was shown at the last SEMA show in Vegas and was impressive. I ended going with SGIO on insurance who gave me an agreed amount well over $44000 to cover my bank repayment and extras on the Jeep. They covered me for complete off-road except when in a competition / race. TCIS came in at $37000 as well and would not budge.

:D Hi Oscar,
Wave next time so I can ID you. I work in the Vicpark area.
Funny thing this evening at the IGA near my house. A lady and her young kid stopped traffic in the parking lot to get a good angle on the Jeep with her mobilephone to take pictures. The wife and myself were standing inside, in a queue, waiting to pay for our goods looking at this lady through the shop window. My wife pipes up " Oh! look babes, another person taking photos of the "wanker tank". Everyone who heard it cracked up with laughter. But she always takes the piss outa me as she herself drives a 2" lifted TJ Wrangler. One defenate way to piss off a female Jeep owner is to say "Cool Jeep , does it belong to your Husband":wall:
I'll have the JK polished and span for the Perth 4x4 show 14th Nov 2008. The Jeep will be at the 4WDUSA stand with other modified Jeeps on display. JK's and TJ's with 6" lifts , etc.

"yes, happy with the service I got from them". But it is not about them,it could have been anyone who done the job right by me on my vehicle and I would have still said what I said on this thread. I am just self impressed with the JK comparing it to how it performed stock and the capabilty it has now. 4wdUSA have no knowlege of my thread or any self input/plug into my postings. When I said in my post about the Perth show, it was not to premote 4WDUSA but that my vehicle would be on display there. azasjeep, you pose a good view to the argument and I will put it to 4wdUSA about AJOR sponsorship. My intensions are clean and all I wanted to do was post my Jeep under "Jeep Build Up" and show Oz what people are doing with the stock Jk's. JTO
Hi Jeeptheone
The stabaliser is currently in a temporary postion until the new 4" right-hand drive pitman arm arrives. The arm will be specialy designed to accomodate the steering stabaliser which will go from the pitman arm to the passenger side chasis. This will put the stabaliser higher up to the right and behind the front bumper away from all other moving parts. The stabaliser mounted as in my picture is practical for road use but will get knocked by the panard bracket when the Jeep bottoms out as I have found out. There is still more work I want to have done on the Jeep but that will be posted else where.
I hope that answers your question, Regards

It is a specialist jeep store/workshop, here we have a dedicated specialist jeep forum, i did give the guy kudos, i said it looked like a good build, i 'suggested' that he have a word to them and 'suggest' they support the forum. My beef was and is that it is super heavily promoted in this thread, potentially bringing $$$ to them, with no return to the forum, it has gota be the last jeep specialist in the country to have not signed on the sponsor the forum. Everyone wants something for nothing nowadays, what is the world coming to?
Not that i have not been here 100 times before, but the forum does not run for free, it has rather extensive resource requirements, these ARE NOT FREE. Sure you can login and sure it costs nothing 'to you', but that is not the case for the owners of the forum....

I completely agree, i just believe that you (and in reflecting, probably myself) could have posted your opinion in a better light. Something along the lines of what you just wrote there, would have been great. :o

Obviously I have put a few people noses out of joint as with the title to my thread, so I will answer one last post and then resign myself from this thread.
Regards
Madog :)
He was just showing us his pride and joy, which happened to be done by someone other than i site sponsor and he gets roastered for it.
Not cool guys. But i also agree with you ARB87U about the sponsoring and the cycle that is. Lets not have a go at this guy. Innocent until proven.
The owner is vice president of the jeep club of WA, so he has vested intrests elsewhere....He is a very knowledgble guy but alot of ppl dont get along with him coz he is a bit rude. His prices arent the best either...jmho....His knowledge of Jeeps is very very good though....Bottom line is that if you have the $$$ he will build you a good jeep..

madog, nice rig mate. Can you tell me how u have found those rancho RS9000XL shocks? Im looking to use them in my superlift kit and get the longarm shock models (the ones im sure u are running in there)
Are the shocks on the model u got actually the oversized ones? They only specify they are oversize on particular part numbers in the XL series and not all of them are larger diameters, so not sure about the ones you have. Apparently the oversized ones are just huuuuge compared to a normal shock. How do you find the ride in them, and differences in adjustment settings? Do you have the wireless controller for them or in cabin? Im in the process of getting all the info I can and seeing ur local with these, who better to ask :)
Also i noticed ur steering shock is relocated to the other side likethe yanks. Did that require welding a new mount ir does the relocation bracket from the US work fine on the other side of the diff?
Cheers mate

Great build. Well done looks good except the bonnet. Too "hummerish"
I will also coment on the other topic that has infected this thread.
So fkn what?
Builder is not a sponsor.
He is no way obligated to sponsor AJOR because a build of his is featured here.
FFS this is a public PUBLIC OPEN forum.
He can post whatever the ****** he wants within the rules provided.
Rude prix!
Shoot him down and scare him off from posting in his own thread for fear of further prosecution. UNFKNBELIEVABLE.
Who gives you the right!?
So we can't mention non-sponsored products anymore?
All those discussions about Dana 60s, 44s, and shit better stop. Same with snorkels, and lifts? Pretty sure RE and Tera don't sponsor the site?
I'm with MR EJ on this one, it's an open forum. If he's happy with the service, why can't he say so? Or are we only allowed to submit paid advertorials?

From what i have heard, the load rating, although will take almost 6000 pound on a double line pull, when straining on rocks, or thick slop, load rating to the winch is alot higher than that, maybe thats where the 6000 pound will struggle, regardless awesome rig..
Keep posting mate, there will always be keyboard warriors having a go, with the protection of distance to their advantage.. Your jeep does all the talking for you.. :)

Amazing transformation and someone out there is so jealous;-) Love that link to 4WDUSA. Thanks to them for that fantastic series of pix of the workshop guys working through, what to me seems to be a major project..Looks like the westeners sure know how to 'mod' a Jeep.

Shorey,
This thread has been dead and forgotten for months. Everyone had their say and it is gone and dusted. You choose to have a fair go at me and 4WDUSA, again on a forum. Stop your digs at me or we will have a repeat of our last forum match!
