I've decided its about time to lift my xj. I'm thinking along the lines of a 3" lift. Was wondering if it is as simple as buying a kit and installing it or is there alot more to it? I've been told the transfer case needs to be lowered, extended brake lines, is there anything else?
What's a good kit to be looking at? Is the Rubicon Express 3.5" lift any good?

Go the Rubicon Express kit. l got the 4.5" lift and its great. The full leaf pack kits (stay away from the add a leaf) with have everything you will need and is easy to install. give wooders a call

you can get this kit in add a leaf or full pack rear leaf. after talking to so many people with the add a leaf they all seem very happy with it, but it is better to get the full pack, depends on the cash flow and what you want to do with your jeep, 2 million people cant be wrong with buy this kit check them out roughcountry.com or ironrockoffroad.com
