Hi John The ground Clearance for a stock Cherokee KK is : ground clearance 189,(mm): ground clearance 7.4,(inches): This is standard trim with the air dam(black bit of plastic) in place from the showroom. Hope this helps JKohn 24-07-2009, 05:45 PM It sure does - thank you!! Pretty low isn't it. Whatever happened to every Jeep having to pass the Rubicon Trail before it was allowed to be sold??? Can that air dam be removed for off road and therefore ground clearance be improved? glend 24-07-2009, 05:50 PM I don't think you'll see many Patriots or Compasses' on the Rubicon Trail. I believe that presence of the "Trail Rated" badge is now the signal that it is that capable. I remember hearing that the "Trail Rated" badges were not put on Australian export models because the importer was worried about 'this certifying' vehicles and the liability if something happened out there. As for the rubicon...lift it a couple of inches, add a set of decent tyres and it will go almost anywhere. createit 25-07-2009, 08:48 AM I have removed the air dam and this definitely helps with the entry approach angle, but not too sure about overall clearance. I have the factory skids on and found on my trip with it to Fraser that we graded along the top of the middle rut on the harder tracks across the island (although we made it across them all no worries). Good thing about this trip is that the 2 " lift was given approval by the wife, so that we dont have to grade our way through any more. I can assure you with the 2 inch lift we could compete with most out there. michaelskk 12-10-2009, 06:36 PM Hi Guys, I have put Goodyear 235x85x16 Silent Armours on, got 35mm extra height at the diff ! which is what everyone was saying and a 2in Revtek lift to help. All work well now. Michaels KK eksjay 13-10-2009, 12:47 PM What are the standard wheel and tyre sizes on these cars off the showroom floor? MissionMan 13-10-2009, 02:20 PM P235/70/R16 Eagle RSA all-season performance - Standard P235/60/R18 Eagle RSA all-season performance - Limited PK 13-10-2009, 03:58 PM 189mm! My wifes LX8 Adventra has 200mm, and a 5.7lt V8! No low range tho....... But the KK is awesome to watch in action, the traction control system is fantastic, just needs a couple more inches off the deck..... CRDSTU 22-11-2009, 11:44 AM It is pretty low i'll give it that but its a pretty regular 4wd height for showroom standards. I've just done another lift on a CRD KK from a fellow on the sunshine coast. He loves it. It comes up around 65mm in the front and 50mm in the rear, sits nice and level. The range of decent off road tyres available in 18" these days is good too. Some BFG All terrains or Mickey Thompsons would be the go. I'll post some pics up as soon as I get them. Smik 28-02-2010, 01:52 AM Sounds very interesting. I'm reluctant to raise 2 tonne but the 2 times I got stuck was beached in bog. pics? eksjay 24-03-2010, 06:26 AM With KKs on the road in Sydney as rare as hens teeth, I was surprised yesterday going home after work to see two KKs. One in the city - a silver one appeared to be jacked up - and really had a presence about it. The second one was a dark one [black/navy blue?] also jacked up. Coincidence? Or is this how they now leave the showroom? These cars look smallish with the stock tyres and suspension, but once they have a bit of kit on them, they appear to take on the stature of of a Commander. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2013, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
