Hi all,
What are people using to fit bigger rubber to the 08/09 Cherokee's? The factory 16's are ok if you only want a slight increase in tyre size but I need a rim with a little more offset to clear suspension etc.
Standard 16" sport rim is 16x7 +40mm offset, 5.5" backspace. 5x4.5 PCD (5x114.3)
A 16x7 with 5" of backspace would be great, who makes one?
Any suggestions?

I have a 09 KK limited with the 18" wheels and no lift at the moment. Looking for a set of 16 or 17 " wheels to put some AT or MT tyres on. Ive seen some 16 and 17" wrangler wheels around and wheels off KJ cherokee's.
Any ideas?
thanks

There are 2 different versions that are esentially the same looking rim in Genuine Jeep.
The ones you've seen on a KJ (ie: Fouros car) are the TJ Wrangler Rubicon Rims directly from The States in 16x8, you cannot purchase them here. PM Fouros for details.
The ones you see getting around all the time on the current JK's are the 17x8 versions. JK's, WJ's, WH's & WK's all share the same 5 on 5 bolt pattern - offsets are similar but not exactly the same. Therefore you cannot put the JK Rubicon 17's on a KK.
The KK shares the common "5 on 4.5" also known as "5 on 114.3". This is one of the most common PCD's known to man so there are plenty of choices around but what looks good is another thing. All of the Pro Comp style rims and some American Racing ones seem to give the car its proper look.
The KK market hasnt yet taken right off here in Australia due to the fact the car is still considered new (ish). I really want to get one myslef but the wife wants the WH Grand ;) !

Excuse my jeep ignorance, but why wouldn't you just get tyres to fit the standard 18" rims or aren't there any decent tyres to do that?

Havent seen much in the way of 18' Mud tyres and so I can have a set for wheels and tyres for play and the original road tyres on the original wheels for the road where it spends 90% of its time.

18" All Terrains and Mud Terrains are starting to become more available as more and more manufacturers are going to 17" & 18" for their production
4WD's even in the smaller 4WD or soft roader category.
