hi - I have read all the LS1 conversion threads around the place and know about the clearance issue with the aircon pump. Is there anyone who has managed to relocate the pump ?? A/C in QLD is a necessity !!

View Full Version : LS1 in TJ aircon issues ilium007 01-11-2009, 11:09 PM hi - I have read all the LS1 conversion threads around the place and know about the clearance issue with the aircon pump. Is there anyone who has managed to relocate the pump ?? A/C in QLD is a necessity !! Will239 02-11-2009, 09:40 AM theres a due in the usa that was forced to notch the frame... theres an old thread on jeepforum.com about his install. i think hes user name is txjeep or something Rodgebone 02-11-2009, 09:49 AM i found a bracket kit from the states (might have been S&P Performance) which moves the ac compressor to the top driver side but is very spendy (over $1500) and doesnt include the compressor itself and if i recall it had to be a Sanden unit (not the stock compressor). looked like it would clear the fender and bonnet but who knows what mods would be needed. i think it also relocated the alternator upstairs. Rodgebone 02-11-2009, 09:51 AM theres a due in the usa that was forced to notch the frame that is commonly done in the states but because of the rhd steering shaft being directly in the way its not really an option here ilium007 02-11-2009, 11:53 AM Yeah - that's what I thought! It would be insane to go the Hemi 5.7 option just for A/C.... Evil0 03-11-2009, 03:16 PM make ur own bracket take the old one off an use them bolt holes with the old bracket off theres alot more room. that is what i am doing with a smaller bracket it fits a sandon 500 which i used as a on bored air not ac. will post up sum pics on my build when i get 2 it. Rodgebone 03-11-2009, 05:46 PM upstairs would be my preference as well. just dont like the alternator sitting down there directly above the upper control arm mount (as well as the mud and water). might try custom brackets when we do Tigger's V8! vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2013, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
