have just purchased a new Jeep Cherokee Limited in Sydney. Best car ever, however I have began to notice a strange rattling / rubbing noise which seems to start on the drivers side of the car but around the rear seat door. The noise then slowly moves to the front door area. Its strange, I got under the right hand side of the car to attempt to isolate it but nothing seems loose, opened and closed the two doors on that side and nothing loose in the doors. The only semi-loose thing is the plastic park which connects to both front and rear mud guard and only occurs when driving. Any ideas anyone???? Its not very loud but noticable and annoying.

Take it back to the dealer and take them on a little drive to demo the problem. Who knows maybe you have a bolt rattling around in the chassis rail.

Make sure the seat bolts on the pass seat are all tight. There have been a few owners here on the states that have had a problem like this.........

Hey Jamsdal,

I forgot to mention in my message back and only thought of it when reading the other posts from Digger and Glend. A couple of weeks after picking up the KK back in June that I had a clicking sound from within the car and it was in fact the Passenger Front seat and the rails. The fix at the dealership was to fully lubricate the rails and it removed the noise completely. Hope that yours is as simple to fix.

yeah mate already tried that, its strange its a lower door sound or seems to be coming from that area anyway, really hard to isolate. The rear plastic railing does not seem very secure, however this has been checked and all fine, fingers crossed the mechanic on Wednesday will know what the heck it is. Pictures on the beast ill be posted Wednesday night after tinting of the windows have been completed. **)

I got the black cherokee limited. The tinted windows do make it look a little like something from pimp my ride but it keeps it cool inside and you can't see whats in the back so its a little more secure.

Well that explains it just a little. I was going to say if it was a 3.7, there isn't a exhaust bracket on the left side ;)
