Whereas the rest of the brand is more than happy to set out on a weekend of adventure in the wild, the Patriot is a little more likely to stay at home in the safety of an air-conditioned garage and organize its Lego collection.
</strong>

Jeep has just released a slew of new photos of the Patriot Extreme the company unveiled at this year's Easter Jeep Safari. As the story goes, Chrysler's engineers have outfitted the truck with nothing more than a slight suspension lift, a set of rock sliders and new wheels before heading off to Moab to play for the weekend. Throw in a little help from the trail-rated package, and this urban commuter becomes more than capable off-road.

i like it... the side view sortof has a new range rover feel to it, with the slim tyres, square wheel arches and nice lines. keeping it simple but still a drastic change.

Very small, not much clearance, really how far could you go in one of these?

How low does jeep want to set the bar for an 'off roader' classification just so they can sell a few more with its trail rated 'package'. I call this brand personality abuse. By these standards if you're not driving an offroader these days there must be something wrong with you. Now we are comparing it to the old subaru? Well then yes, if we keep our blinkers on to imagine a world where only patriots and subaru's exist we can say the patriot is in the off roader basket. My mrs barina can go where that patriot's going if i were to modify it with nothing but lift + wheels. Lets declare the barina with its trail rated 'package' a short wheel based off roader. I see forums for the KK KJ XJ GC TJ JK and Commander. Nope, sorry, no patriot forum there on aus jeep OFFROAD.

That's why you would fail at being CEO of Jeep.
With all this climate crap they have to look at ways they will not lose money. Selling a small 4x4 with mild off road capabilities is a good way to keep selling products.

thank you, i wasnt aware that jeep is producing this vehicle to make money. Its marketing lies im having a go at. Its the consumer who owns the products brand personality and jeep are abusing this. everything's so simple when you're 19.

(pulls out soap box) iin the good old days all jeep products had to be capable of doing the rubicon trail in the factory form
yes i know the trail has got harder due to erosion etc
but this sort of vehicle dosent belong in the trail rated catoregy
and neither does half the other crap they are making

And theres the answer .... ;)

Brand and Model .....

Kaiser & AMC etc ............... all made car models and Jeep models.

Chrysler on the other hand, made cars ... acquired the Jeep model ... turned it fully into a brand for marketing purposes, and stuck the Jeep badge on what should have been .....

Good chrysler softroaders proudly sold by Chrysler.

We can thank chrysler for the crap that goes on .... on the forum about the different newer models.

Why is there so much hating in here. No one can accept the fact that Jeep has a car that is actually good on road, yet still can do some off road work if need to be.

No one buys a Patriot as a serious Offroader. If you did you must be stupid.
But it is city friendly, easy to park, can handle on road, yet still as i said can get a bit dirty every now and then.

The first post seams to be about how someone trying to make it a serious off roader. I'm admitting it's not, no need for these upgrades. Patriot is meant to used for small amounts of off road work, probably not enough to require a lift and new tyres.

Its cars like these that make us genuine 4wd enthusiast look bad because they become urban driven so called 4wd vehicles that other drivers hate.Like pointless Ford territory's or Klugers. And its got about as much flex as my skateboard:D Guess it gives the boys who like to put 20 and 22's something new to put their bling on.
