Doing a build up of my WH Grand. Just did the 2nd battery install. Caution with Piranha DBE180S (or perhaps any brand which taps into ignition circuit to pick up 12v) - it caused ECU to go into limp mode (max 3rd gear, then stuck in 3rd). Only fix was to install the lesser spec DBE140S which didn't need to be wired into the ignition. Autosparkie suspects ECU detected voltage drop which will cause ECU to go into limp mode - but that's a guess only. Point being - caution advised when installing isolators in Jeeps with contemporary ECUs.

could you not take the ignition signal (I assume it just to tell the battery unit that the ignition is turned on) from the cigarette lighter, I have to hook up my caravan trailer electric brake controller (ignition on signal only & CB radio (power source) & decided that the cigarette lighter is the safest bet

I took all mine from the cig lighter (ok i also ran some extra relays and used it as a trigger) but i have a redarc dual bat isolator, CB, trailer brakes and car pc all switching on with accessories.....
