My rock hopping days are past too, these covers are for the Cape trip mainly, the drop off in to the creek crossings look to be "hazardous" to say the least. Don’t knock the oem off road bash plates they are solid but only engine, transfer case and fuel tanks. There is only sound proofing under the gearbox and nothing in front of the engine. I like the look of the aftermarket fuel filter one
