My dad just bought one, not the same as yours Steve but a small invertor arc welder and his welds have improved big time, he says its such a nice easy welder. I still use my MIG, but might give it a try.

you can run a 140 off a 6kva generator but recommend bigger as the intial
hit takes alot of power. I know people running 230amp AC/DC kemppi TIG of
8kva generator. I also have seen a small invertor generator run a 140amp DC
stick but only let it push max of 70 amps so not worth the trouble. You have
watch the ratings on welder's as although it may say it is 200amp it really can
only supply that amperage if you have the power to back it up. 200 amps need's a constant 23amp supply any else will actually reduce your duty cycle.

Thought I would have a look at ebay for the welder you got - wow only 4.5 kg. easy to take around. The price seem to have gone up a bit $490?
Was thinking about getting one just so I could do a few things while I am up here in Darwin, but was tossing up whether to get one for a bit more thats MMA/TIG as already have 2 welders at home. Would have the whole range then. But then again - that small size and weight would be so handy

Here's one :) I thought about the TIG stuff but by the time you buy the extra gear extra didn't seem worth it to me, and for what I do I don't need tig.....Yet.
