Went to Landcruiser Mountain Park in September but I don't think I got around to putting the pics up on AJOR...so here they are! Be warned, this post is picture heavy!
These pictures were taken by a mate who was following in his Hilux. A nice little track on the way to our campsite, good for flexing http://i.imgur.com/4pWL4l.jpg One of the tracks we did (Claw Gorge for those who have been) http://i.imgur.com/NMTbyl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8T5ULl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PVBhkl.jpg Shaving some metal off the sidestep http://i.imgur.com/HjjNbl.jpg No damage done...yet... http://i.imgur.com/XW1Fpl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8UXLel.jpg http://i.imgur.com/LkDINl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/LSjKGl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/cVHdol.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8X4mtl.jpg This water crossing was at the end of the track On to another random track http://i.imgur.com/RPqtHl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Yy5m9l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/D7M5xl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/jIpDJl.jpg Now onto my favourite bit of the trip...I don't remember exactly which track this was, pretty sure it was Top Test Track, whatever it was it was crazy... http://i.imgur.com/JvjPIl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6uwlQl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/V5tmDl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/2AQfAl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/OHIH7l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/uWOeIl.jpg To show what we came through http://i.imgur.com/P0KHPl.jpg This is where I bent my sidestep... http://i.imgur.com/yXf6Tl.jpg Had to get out and figure out angle of attack http://i.imgur.com/iZM6Hl.jpg When we'd finished that one we went down ARB Alley but it was blocked by fallen trees so had to turn around on a crazy steep hill, off to the side of the track was dry grass, I got over onto it and turned around but couldn't get back onto the track, was about 20cm away from resting the tailgate on a tree, had to call for help on this one... http://i.imgur.com/fz0u9l.jpg Now my last trip to LCMP was a year ago when I had my Sierra, and I wound up in water up to the driver seat, so on this visit in the Jeep I'd decided to stay away from mud pits...until we came across this one. Went through easily enough, back and forward a few times until I finally got stuck... http://i.imgur.com/R9eAMl.jpg Now I didn't really want to get it covered with mud, but in the attempt of getting unstuck I got it fairly muddy, so I thought screw it...if it's going to get a bit muddy it's going to get alot muddy... http://i.imgur.com/OnLtwl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/WeIu1l.jpg So I proceeded to get it very muddy http://i.imgur.com/PVDyEl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/F66wpl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/k6vNgl.jpg And that's the end of the pictures. After the mud pit we made our way back to camp to pack up, unfortunately in the process of covering it with mud I also managed to pack the radiator with mud, and it overheated on the way back...Had to stop in the middle of a track to let it cool, and when we passed the next stream I filled some empty bottles with water and cleaned out the radiator as best I could. |
