this BullyDog reckons it turns off esp completely! so id say its doing what we are trying to do with the wheel hockey pocky, but reading the Q&A it looks like it keeps the brakes lights on the whole time the esp is off! thats no dam good. It also still requires a key cycle engine off/on to reset the esp i.e. same as esp disable switch mod.
Anyone got one, got experience with bullydog?

It's been a while since a post here and I've read most of the posts now but...

Does anyone know if the wires are the same colour in the MY14 JK?

Cheers
Tim

probably still the same colour,
check this devise out, click on 'installation manual' its the same as what we do, same color wire, only it has two more wires that go to your dash esp button, pressing the esp for 5 seconds disables esp, you dont need a separate button with this device so it all looks stock.

Hi all I have updated the original post as the pic links disappeared.

Just done this.

I have just completed this mod on my 2016 JKU.
I tried the steering wheel dance and the long press of the traction control button but had no luck with either, that being said Im not much of a dancer and gave up after attempt 1.
I can not get the jeep to make the chime sound when the TC button is long pressed (although it chimes its sweet arse off at everything else going on in its world) after multiple attempts in different range selections and facing north or south.
The bypass switch mod was easy, I can only suggest unplugging the door harness as an extra step so you dont have to listen to the chime while testing with the doors open.
Another Important note is THERE ARE 2 PURPLE WIRES WITH LIGHT BLUE STRIPE!. if you are doing this at home, one of them is part of a twisted pair of wires, the other is straight and looks like its mate is the purple one with the dark blue stripe. You need the straight one. I should have taken a photo, but didnt.
I got a neat little flush mount switch from repco for 7 bucks and mounted it near the hand brake. I would have preferred a momentary normally closed push button, but the switch works fine and was on the shelf. Make sure you check the clearances for the back of the switch you choose. Mines an auto and there are a lot of obstacles to avoid under the console cover.
There are 2 reasons I have done this
1. When attempting a hill climb with loose rocky ground the other day, I found that as soon as the wheel spin in low range made the wheels go over about 50kph I lost all go and stopped dead on the hill. Reversing back and increasing the run up gave a little better results, but always at that cruicial moment the thing would let me down and loose all go. With this switch now, even if it wont make it up the hill, it will do so in a spectacular display of dust and flying stones.
2. 2wd doughnuts. I miss whipping hoops in my old TJ.
Cheers.
