I added to the existing cooling by cutting the hot side ATF line post tranny and pre factory ATF cooler. I connected the new coolers intake to the cut line that runs direct back to the tranny. The new coolers cool/out line was then connected to the factory line running into the factory ATF cooler. If you need a diagram sing out.

The after market fan hasn't been neccessary. The new cooler and increase in ATF alone seems to be adequate to keep tranny cool.

I’ve read that this gearbox does suffer as the design carries a low quantity of ATF, because of this there are aftermarket cast alloy sumps available that increase the capacity and have cooling fins to further assist.

Lightbar, Steel wheels and muddies...

And the alloy roof tray is already off that X-Trail in the background. It doesn't fit the cross rails on the car, and I want to convert it to tracks anyway. It would be way too high on those cross rails for my short-arse stature.
